In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. I think this is my second time here. The one thing that is improved is things were a lot less salty
The salad is very fresh and that was a side dish too the chicken pot pie Really nice, I liked it a lot. It is not a big pie so if you come with a really big appetite I suggest getting another dish or maybe and additional side. My partner had I believe the pot rest which was pretty good too and she liked the veggies and everything. The only flaw was she had ordered corn muffin and it came kind of on the late side but that’s okay.
All in all plus an atmosphere. Even with a lot of people, there not too noisy because the design breaks up a lot of the sound.

This Black Bear Diner is open 24 hours. Went here around 1:00am. The menu is limited during this hour. The food is not as good as the one served during regular hours.

I had the best experience at this restaurant, from the moment I walked it I was greeted by Susana she sat us down brought coffee, then Ernesto came and and helped us place our order, the bus man was on point on what we needed also, everyone is so nice and attentive Lucy came and checked on us and our needs I would 100 times come back
