I tried the Best Lobster Roll, while this roll was beautifully displayed on the plate, looks were very deceiving here! The claw meat was chewy and tough, the lemon sauce could have been a nice flavor addition but it was lost in the excessive butter. The bun wasn’t soggy, but I do think it was overfilled with lobster and made the roll difficult to bite. Many people enjoyed this roll, I saw them, but for me this was a no.
This roll is expensive, $38.50. Some might disagree with me and that is fine, I am a foodie, so I will pay for food, but this was essentially a bad sandwich full of rubbery lobster meat, hidden beneath butter. I have had lobster rolls much cheaper that were more of a lobster salad roll and were outstanding, I support my statement about the cost! I did not finish this meal, I wasn’t upset, we all have a meal we don’t enjoy, thankfully my appetizers were fabulous!
The Hummus had a different twist with Cumin, tomato relish, marinated olives, crispy chickpeas, rosemary oil served with garlic sourdough finished with sumac. I loved this, and the portion size could be a full meal if you are vegetarian or vegan and don’t see anything else on the menu that tempts your tongue!
The Deviled Eggs are topped with cornmeal crusted oysters, smoky chipotle mayo, and chives! These are fancy, I am sure southern grandmothers and aunties will side eye you at the summer cookout for challenging the traditional, but this is a must if you are a deviled egg connoisseur.
My cousin ordered the sage fried chicken and waffles, the presentation was perfect and she enjoyed every bite, next visit, that is what I will order.
Even if you aren’t a lover of Oysters, isn’t this bar just the cutest! Check out the different types of oysters and their flavor profile, I never knew there was much of a difference, now I will need to pay close attention to the taste the next time I indulge in a half dozen raw.
Despite the disappointment of the lobster roll, I would definitely dine here again, I had a great time, and everything else I ate was fantastic. Enjoy
Unnerved Traveler
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and beautiful!
My server was outstanding, providing attentive and friendly service throughout the evening.
As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. The fried oysters on top of the deviled eggs were absolutely delicious and the scallops were so flavorful!
Highly recommend! Five stars all around!
Food: I had the seafood linguini but it wasn’t the best. The shrimp was salty so I did not quite enjoy the meal. My friend had chicken and waffles and it was a lot of chicken!
The cocktail was my favorite item from the menu outside of their house made cornbread which was delicious.
Atmosphere: Ambience is really nice and being that we went in for lunch on a weekend, the restaurant was surprisingly almost empty.
Service: no complaints about the service. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner and our waiter Sylvan always checked in on us.
Conclusion: pretty decent spot for the price. Would love to come back sometime.
