First time and def not the last! Not only was the food excellent but the service was above and beyond wonderful. It’s one thing when the food is excellent but I personally come back for the service. Managers were on point to touch tables and ensure quality satisfaction. We were hesitant to try this place because we always have our toddler with us but the kids menu has a great variety and our server Moe was so great to our daughter it hit a home run for us! Def would not be the same without his friendliness and knowledge of the menu/service. Wow 10/10!

I hate the mall parking and for me that’s only downside here. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely wonderful. The crab dip was so insanely good. The lobster roll was very good, just a bit difficult for me to eat, but that didn’t stop me! If you are a fan of oysters this absolutely is the place to be.

The experience, service, appetizers and atmosphere was great, I simply did not enjoy what I decided to order as my main course.

I tried the Best Lobster Roll, while this roll was beautifully displayed on the plate, looks were very deceiving here! The claw meat was chewy and tough, the lemon sauce could have been a nice flavor addition but it was lost in the excessive butter. The bun wasn’t soggy, but I do think it was overfilled with lobster and made the roll difficult to bite. Many people enjoyed this roll, I saw them, but for me this was a no.

This roll is expensive, $38.50. Some might disagree with me and that is fine, I am a foodie, so I will pay for food, but this was essentially a bad sandwich full of rubbery lobster meat, hidden beneath butter. I have had lobster rolls much cheaper that were more of a lobster salad roll and were outstanding, I support my statement about the cost! I did not finish this meal, I wasn’t upset, we all have a meal we don’t enjoy, thankfully my appetizers were fabulous!

The Hummus had a different twist with Cumin, tomato relish, marinated olives, crispy chickpeas, rosemary oil served with garlic sourdough finished with sumac. I loved this, and the portion size could be a full meal if you are vegetarian or vegan and don’t see anything else on the menu that tempts your tongue!

The Deviled Eggs are topped with cornmeal crusted oysters, smoky chipotle mayo, and chives! These are fancy, I am sure southern grandmothers and aunties will side eye you at the summer cookout for challenging the traditional, but this is a must if you are a deviled egg connoisseur.

My cousin ordered the sage fried chicken and waffles, the presentation was perfect and she enjoyed every bite, next visit, that is what I will order.

Even if you aren’t a lover of Oysters, isn’t this bar just the cutest! Check out the different types of oysters and their flavor profile, I never knew there was much of a difference, now I will need to pay close attention to the taste the next time I indulge in a half dozen raw.

Despite the disappointment of the lobster roll, I would definitely dine here again, I had a great time, and everything else I ate was fantastic. Enjoy

I had an exceptional experience at The Walrus Oyster & Ale House!
From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and beautiful!

My server was outstanding, providing attentive and friendly service throughout the evening.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. The fried oysters on top of the deviled eggs were absolutely delicious and the scallops were so flavorful!

Highly recommend! Five stars all around!

Dined in with the family at noon on a Sunday. We were given brunch menus but asked for the regular lunch/dinner menus as well…there’s a lot of overlap between the two menus but some things like wings are missing from the brunch menu. The cornbread that is brought out to the table is awesome! It was a battle to not eat too much of it prior to the other food. Unlike most other crab dips that restaurants make, this one was loaded with big lump pieces. I also enjoyed the wings. Service was prompt and frequent, and the manager was visible and available to ensure everything was great.

We’ve been dining at the Walrus Oyster and Ale House in Columbia for a few years. This visit was on a weekday Jan 2nd at around 2 pm. We were seated promptly as it was an off hour. Waiter arrived, greeted us and went over the menu selections and his favorites. We had to flag down our waiter to return to our table to take our order, again it was not a busy hour. We went with oysters Rockefeller for our appetizer and we shared the Fish and Chips to round off a light late lunch. The oysters Rockefeller were delicious and enjoyable, cooked just right. The Fish and Chips were hearty, 2 large pieces of tender moist cod fried perfectly, and thick slabs of french fries, with ketchup and tartar sauce. The ladies restroom was well kept and clean. The mens restroom had oddly worrisome stickiness on the floor throughout and one of the sink faucets would not turn on with the motion sensor. Photos of the raw bar area and sports bar area included in this review.

This would be my 2nd time at this establishment and the service has always been good.

Food: I had the seafood linguini but it wasn’t the best. The shrimp was salty so I did not quite enjoy the meal. My friend had chicken and waffles and it was a lot of chicken!
The cocktail was my favorite item from the menu outside of their house made cornbread which was delicious.

Atmosphere: Ambience is really nice and being that we went in for lunch on a weekend, the restaurant was surprisingly almost empty.

Service: no complaints about the service. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner and our waiter Sylvan always checked in on us.

Conclusion: pretty decent spot for the price. Would love to come back sometime.

Not too great of an experience. My server was sassy and really slow. She kept acting like we were an inconvenience and even argued with my friend for something the server should have handled. Spoke to the manager to let him know how poor our service was and he was very kind. Might come back and see if they have better service at a later date but not sure. The atmosphere was really nice and the food was good. But it doesn’t make the price tag worth the visit if the service is sub par.

First time trying this place and was very pleased! They have a great menu with a variety of delicious options. Guava non-alcoholic mocktail is so good! We had the deviled eggs with oysters (2 of them substituted with shrimp), wings, and a lobster roll with fries. Cornbread is served to your table as well. Love the ambiance and staff were very attentive. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the jumbo lump crab dip, half&half platter with Alaskan cod and fried oysters. My guest and I were able to sample some of the cornbread that accompanies each table and it was soooo delicious and we definitely wanted more! The jumbo lump crab dip was hot and delicious! It had the perfect ratio of meat and cheese! We literally cleared that dish in no time! The half&half platter was great as well! The food was fresh, hot and well seasoned! My favorite were the fried oysters! My guest ordered the Oyster Rockefeller and stated they were average. There was a bit of a wait (~45 minutes) at the time we went. It seems to get very busy being that it is a popular food place, so please pack your patience with you if you plan on going ! The waiter was very helpful and responsive to the needs of the table. If I’m in the area again, I would definitely include this restaurant as one of the places I should visit again!
