Went to Crandall’s over the weekend with some family. Walking in, it gives you that cozy, old-school vibe—like being back at your grandparents’ house. Super homey feel.
As many reviews mention, their broasted chicken was really good! The fries were delicious, and their rolls were warm and tasty too. I tried the patty melt, but it was a bit too thick for my liking, and I was disappointed to find caraway seeds in the rye bread. The menu mentions rye, but it would be nice if they clarified which kind—since not everyone enjoys the seeded version.
The water definitely had that well-water taste, so we ended up ordering other drinks. Our server could’ve been a bit more friendly—she just seemed a little bothered right from the start.
Overall, the food was good, and the atmosphere was charming, but a few small things kept it from being a perfect experience.

The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding! The baket of rolls alone is reason to give Crandall’s a try. Loved everything about our first time visit and will definitely be back.

First time for us! Friday night, very busy at first. 40 min wait, WORTH IT. Food was good. For how busy it was, our drinks, appetizers, dinners came very quickly. We had fish fry, seconds and thirds also came very fast. We were disappointed several of the whole pies were sold out.(must mean they’re very good) we got slices to go for a birthday treat. 10/10 Very worth the drive and money spent!!! Note for future customers go after 7

The best chicken ever!!! We had an amazing waitress who kept all 8 of our orders straight and brought us each exactly the combination of meat and sides that we ordered. What a great team!! Wait till you see the size of the trays they deliver to the tables. The chicken was steaming hot, fresh and delicious. The breast meat was juicy and flavorful. The other cuts were equally delicious, but we were really impressed with the breast meat. The sides were delicious. Our group especially loved the Cole slaw. Best chicken ever!!

Our first time here, and it was amazing. They have a chicken bowl kind of like KFC with corn, gravy, chicken, and mashed potatoes, but way, way better. The mushroom chicken was mouth-watering .They also have a great selection of pies and deserts. The staff was very friendly and attentive. ( Our drinks were never empty ) . Lastly, the restaurant had a very rustic homey feel to it. We will definitely be coming back!

We decided to stop at crandalls coming home from lake geneva winterfest. walked in and it reminded me of a super club I used to go to in Rhinelander wisconsin. we had to wait a little bit before we got seated about 5 minutes. It took a while until our server came but we realized that her and another server were the only ones and it looked like they were having a pretty good lunch crowd. When she came over I ordered the chicken amd my wife ordered the liver and onions. The chicken was great liver and onions not so muchthe chicken was amazing. i will be going back when i am in there neighborhood again

3 of us had the broasted chicken and fried fish. The food was served hot and delicious and our waitress was exceptional. We were very full, but it was hard to pass on their desserts. We got very large piece of chocolate cake to go and it was excellent! We look forward to coming back.

So worth the drive for the best broasted chicken in Illinois. Plus only 45 mini more and you’re in Lake Geneva for an afternoon of shopping. Nice staff, supper club setting.
