If you are craving any Nicaraguan baked goods in general La Chipiona has a little bit of everything. However, what I love most of this place apart from the patries is their customer service. I’ve been there many times and their service is consistent. I highly recommend anyone to check them out!!

I visit this place for the Nicaraguan cheese. While there I always pickup other pastries that they offer. The folks there are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of good eats at this place.

I traveled from East Hialeah because I trusted this establishment. It is very difficult finding clean food service. Last week I purchased a gallon beverage. I returned the next morning with the gallon in an iced cooler and wanted to ask if at the least they could add more powdered mixture to the liquid to fix the taste for me. I felt comfortable with the female employee, she is the employee who helps me during every visit, and she knows every visit I spend over a hundred dollars because I live far. This morning the owner was present and he argued that my opinion in taste didn’t matter because it was the best in town. He offered a credit but before doing so he measured the missing liquid I poured at home with his EYES. He said it looked like I poured about eight ounces so he would subtract that from my credit. He also assured me that after I left he would put the top back on and resell the gallon to someone else! I was in shock at this point because I have never ever encountered any issues prior to this day. I promised him that I would file every complaint possible. I told him to keep the credit and he then offered the full amount in cash. I denied every offer possible because knowing he would sell an open food item to another complete stranger is just wrong and disgusting. The owner approached me again while in my car and offered A full refund in cash. He mentioned he spoke to his sister and she was upset with his choice of words and actions but the damage was already done. I explained to him that this was not about the money and I continued to refuse any sort of refund. As a mom, who is Servsafe certified, I take food handling very seriously. I wouldn’t offer open goods to a customer after another consumer handled the product. That is how people get sick. That is why recalls are our daily news report. Food handling needs to be taken seriously. You shouldn’t own a food establishment if you’re not being honest to your customers. I am sad I will not be returning. I really valued their small business vibe but I’m grateful he spoke the truth. Please be aware and don’t let this happen to you.

All the antojos Nicaragüenses in one little place!! A huge selection of baked goods and other grocery items. My one must stop when I’m in Miami. Prices have gone up but we must satisfy the cravings. I buy to mail to all my kids who don’t get any Nica food where they live.
