My husband and I had been on the road from Southwest Virginia to Baltimore since early Friday morning to pick up a car. We had not eaten since lunch, and the dealership kept us well after an appropriate dinner time with paperwork. Very tired and very hungry, we finally left the dealership after 10:30 pm, searching for somewhere to eat. At about 11:20, we left I-70 at the Mount Airy exit, hopeful that the local IHOP would still be open. They were, but they were closing at midnight. We entered cautiously, fearing they would turn us away because of the late hour. Much to our relief, we were warmly welcomed, seated, and served from a kitchen that I’m sure was on the brink of closing for the night. Donnell even made me a fresh pot of decaf coffee, which was greatly appreciated on a very cold night. The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious – there was not a scrap left on any plate! Major, major, MAJOR thanks and kudos to this special restaurant that welcomed and fed two hungry travellers so very late at night on January 23, 2026. We may never pass that way again, but the town of Mount Airy and its IHOP will always hold a special place in our memories of that very long day!

First visit to this location and was very satisfied and impressed with every detail. Server Kendall was extremely helpful, polite, and professional. Food was perfectly prepared and immediately served hot. Happily discovered they served Scrapple for breakfast and it was terrific. Everything tasted great. And as a veteran I greatly appreciated the military discount. Bottom line is that this was the absolute best experience I’ve ever had at any iHop.

My family of 6 ate here. Carlos was great, kind, courteous and constantly cleaned up the trash that all of us had. The whole experience with him was great. And his good manager helped out too!

The waitress Ana told us that we could only donate $10.00, when it clearly says on the paper that you can make a donation of $5.00.

Not a bad wait for a Sunday morning at all, the waitstaff were also kind and quick. The food was edible, and that’s really all I have to say. I think that there’s an issue in the kitchen bc it was all slightly undercooked. Steak was medium rare when I asked medium, eggs were runnier than expected for over easy, and it took 30 minutes to toast one English muffin. The less stellar option was the banana pancakes. Considering it’s an IHOP, I wasn’t expecting dry pancakes with banana clearly going bad.

Keeping in mind that it’s IHOP we’re talking about, this location is exceptional. The servers are friendly and attentive even when short staffed. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is fast and thoughtfully prepared. Wish there were more healthy options, but the spinach mushroom omelet is actually very good!

Food was good but our server sneaked us some extras by making it seem like they come with the normal dish. It wasn’t about the money it was about how she told it to us and how disrespectful she was when my mother asked her about it. She basically said “you already ate it so pay up” will not be coming back

Food has improved some since my last visit. I was there for breakfast, had pancakes of course. Very good.

We went to the IHOP last Sunday and left immensely satisfied — especially thanks to our server, Skyler. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was peaceful, and Skyler went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We’ll be back!

The waitress was very nice to our kids and the food was good. I got the regular breakfast with eggs bacon and toast, which all turned out as requested, even though we had a large party which I know can be difficult to do especially with eggs.
