It had been a solid four or five years since I’d been to Saltgrass Steak House. To be honest, my last visit back then wasn’t exactly memorable in a good way. One of those meals where you leave thinking, “Well……that happened.” So it quietly fell off my rotation.
Fast forward to last night, and I’m glad I gave it another shot.
From the moment we sat down, the experience felt completely different. The service alone set the tone. Our waitress, Lauren, was on it the entire night. Friendly, attentive, and somehow perfectly timed without hovering. Drinks stayed filled, food came out smooth, and she made the whole table feel taken care of.
To top it off, a manager named Edgar stopped by to check on us. Not a quick drive by “everything good?” but a genuine, professional check in. You could tell he actually cared about how things were going. That kind of leadership usually trickles down, and it definitely showed.
Now let’s talk about the food.
I ordered the ribeye, and it was absolutely dialed in. Perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, and packed with flavor. The kind of steak that makes you pause mid bite and nod at the table like you just made a great life decision. Everyone else at the table felt the same about their meals. No complaints, no sending anything back, just a lot of quiet chewing and approval noises.
Between the phenomenal service and food that actually delivered, this felt like a completely different restaurant from the one I remembered years ago.
Safe to say Saltgrass is officially back in my good graces. I came in cautiously optimistic and left planning my next visit.

My first visit to this restaurant, definitely won’t be my last. The moment walked in hostess was great greeted with a smile sat immediately, I did make reservation though.I still was about 6 minutes late, We went for my birthday dinner. Fondue was amazing!! Prime rib was on point, Salmon Oscar absolutely beautiful and delicious! We had the best absolutely adorable and sweet attentive waitress, named Kyra.I hope I got her name right all of the staff that I encountered was amazing they were helping each other out .
I love to see that in a restaurant. Great first Impression definitely will return soon

First time eating here, very good food, service and dining experience. I had ribs, salad and baked potato with fried mushrooms as my appetizer. It was a perfect meal. Spouse and grandson was equally pleased. We will be back and I have no problem sharing my great dinner experience

Worst service I’ve ever experienced!!. My husband, our 1 year old and I came here to have a nice dinner this afternoon. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. Then once we were seated we never were served. It was not busy whatsoever but multiple people next to us that came in after us got served. After constantly making contact with the dark haired red head waitress she still ignored us even though she saw we had no drinks. After 30 minutes of waiting we just left and went to Texas Roadhouse where the service was much better!.

My husband & I took our toddler out to dinner tonight & had a wonderful experience! Food was delicious, so glad they brought the brussel sprouts back! All the staff we interacted with were so kind. The service we received from our waiter, Nick, was absolutely incredible! He was so friendly and attentive. I don’t normally write reviews but felt the need to because Nick went above & beyond to serve us and we noticed him do the same to the tables around us. Thank you Saltgrass for a great dining experience as always & thank you Nick for the exceptional service!

On my first visit I was welcomed at the door, the atmosphere was both dress up and relaxed in one. From the start my server, Tyler, was fast and helpful. Answered all my questions. I went with steak and soup, best soup I’ve had in years. The steak was not what I had expected, but the manager, Danielle, handling and fixing it is what makes this restaurant deserving of a 5 star review. They truly cared to make it right and they excited my expectations. They made me feel like it was my birthday, Highly recommend!

We have not been to Salt Grass in Tyler in a long time. We went today after church the food was amazing and I think we had the best waitress in the house. I think her name was Char. The manager Meagan made us feel right at home! This is our new spot to eat after church!

Stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the patty melt and fries. Was NOT disappointed. Juicy and cooked to perfection. Fries were hot and fresh.
Server was very friendly and helpful with menu questions.

We got a gift card for Christmas and we usually go to the Rockwall Saltgrass, but this time we were close to Tyler so we decided to stop there. Even though the restaurant was almost empty we were seated near the bar. We waited 10 minutes for out drinks and the bread was stale and I couldn’t eat it. The salad was just the usual house salad and when I finished eating it I saw a small hair on the plate. I told the server and she said she had never seen that since she started working there and she was going to tell the manager, but I never heard back. The ribeyes that we ordered were supposed to be cooked to medium, but they were closer to well-done. The steak tasted like sirloin and not a ribeye. It had not flavor at all and tasted like something you would get from Denny’s. Our server never checked on us, he just yelled over at me to see if I needed a to go box. He didn’t bother to ask if we wanted dessert or if we needed anything else, he just picked up our card and walked away. For almost an $80.00 dollar meal, I really wished it would have been worth it, but unfortunately I won’t be back to this location.

Met for informal business lunch right as they opened. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. We ordered off the lunch menu, Tenderloin Tips and Fried Mushrooms. The Tenderloin Tips are served with mushrooms and a dark gravy over garlic mashed potatoes…very Tender and great flavor. I added the salad with honey mustard as my one side, it was simple but hit the spot. The fried mushrooms are crisp but not greasy, I was very impressed with the flavor in the breading. This meal is definitely one I will duplicate! Thanks for the great lunch experience!
