We are an old fashioned burger restaurant located on 37 North in Salem Illinois. We specialize in fresh ground beef and a mustard relish grilled onion secret sauce. We are family owned and have been serving great burgers since 1986. We make our burgers made to order and fresh every day. We also have an awesome team of employees and stride ourselves on great customer service. We love meeting new people and visiting with our regulars. We offer a wide variety of sandwiches and sides. Small dining area but delicious burgers, fries, mushrooms, and tenderloin. Staff were attentive and gave us one of their new hot dogs to try. We had a table of six. The burgers are well seasoned. An order of fries is enough for two.

We happened upon Chuck’s Place by chance while traveling from Indianapolis to Memphis, and I’m so glad we did! The wait staff were so polite and friendly. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable! We especially loved their house made mustard relish sauce. This is such a great family owned diner for burger, fries, and more! Whenever we travel through the area, we will definitely be stopping here again!

Neat place if you like the old roadside diner feel, food was great and the relish mustard was a treat. Girls were great keeping up cares for.

We found Chuck’s Place purely by accident, while traveling to Nashville. Right around lunchtime we pulled into an almost fully packed parking lot and the dining room was just as busy.
The waitstaff is outstanding, refreshingly friendly and efficient. We only tried the burgers and Cajun fries, and both were delicious. This is definitely a restaurant I’ll revisit and can only highly recommend.

Excellent cheeseburgers and crinkle cut french fries just like years ago. They had diet Ski both in the can and the cup but I think it is a much better deal to buy a couple of cans–and get an actual 24 oz then it is to buy a 32 oz cup which contains all ice and certainly less than 32 oz of ski for $3.50 with a 50-cent charge for refill.

Love this place always go here when I want a burger. They have a lot of size options. The people working here are very nice and will fix my food if there’s ever an issue, which doesn’t happen often because they’re very good at putting food together. The food is also very good. I love how they have ski products here too, which a lot of places don’t have in this area.

Was taking my mother in law home and planned on stopping in Salem for lunch. I like to find out where the locals eat when I travel and the reviews for Chucks Place were good so we decided to try it, it did not disappoint. I knew we were at the right place because the parking lot was packed. My brother in law and I got the Wimpy burger and fries, the food was fresh and tasty. The burger was cooked perfectly, the condiments were fresh and the fries were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. My mother in law got the grilled pork tenderloin, also fantastic. The service was friendly and spot on. When I go through Salem again, Chucks Place will be on my GPS!!!

The food was good, the atmosphere was comfortable at a moderate price. You might have to remind them that you are there, and that your drinking coffee, once in awhile though.
