This is where the castle inn used to be, RIP that was a decent boozer. We were served by the most lovely man who was very attentive and very funny! I would like to take a moment to express my love for the minty sauce that comes on the chutney board. it does not conform to simple sweet, salty, umami, sour sort of business it is very much its own level of satisfying. If I was to eat one thing for the rest of my life it would definitely be poppadoms and minty sauce it is just exquisite! little India was lovely and they food was such good quality. unfortunately I couldn’t try any beers because #dryjanuary #coldturkey #boring #neveragainwillibesofoolish #oneofthesethingsfirst

P.S. ops on going bald (see picture attached)

8 of us chose Little India for our regular social evening. Excellent choice. The service was exemplary. Having travelled and worked extensivly in India, including the South, this cuisine is very authentic. The food was well presented and delicious. We all agreed, and will definitely be back. I will certainly make Little India my first choice in Monmouth.

We have visited this restaurant twice now and both times we have experienced excellent dining. The food is excellent and very well presented. This is another little Indian gem in Monmouth.

I went for a meal to little india restaurant in Monmouth on Christmas eve. We found the food to be over priced and under rated the chicken tikka was watery and tasteless I was surprised by the little amount of rice and chips in small bowls the garlic naan bread had no taste of garlic.
After the meal I ordered another drink but instead I was brought the bill.
Sorry for the negative feedback but I was disappointed

Hi honest review.

Think the restaurant is great decor wise and staff are cool.

In terms of food quality it was just average to me. I have tasted more flavour/spices in other rice’s, naans and curries.

Genuinely think kutir and misbah are far superior.

I did appreciate it was a different part of India coming monmouth though.

This is my opinion and my opinion and experience but nicest thing about this food was the wet napkin at then end of the meal!
This is an extremely overpriced and over rated ( by reviews) as having lived abroad and eaten authentic Southern Indian food – this was rough! Curry is swimming in oil and that taste of chilli that hits you prior to anything else also rough, ( that not the first thing you should taste , my goodness) The Naan bread tasted like the long life stuff bought it from a supermarket ..Even the mint sauce served with the toughest chicken tikka I’ve ever eaten had been watered down , with water . We all were very excited to have a new restaurant opening in Monmouth, but this was so disappointing and I’m sorry the only way I can describe the food is horrible!
Three of us attempted to eat our take out tonight , all concluding that we won’t go there again for takeaway Wednesdays ! There are a lot of restaurants in Monmouth, but none of them great , but this meal really finished it for us ! How we long for exotic good food, but end up doing a better job with a jar of Pataks in our own kitchens. Having lived just off the Melton Road in Leicester, I guess I’m spoiled, food that tasted like the food you ate in India , got so excited to see Southern Indian Food advertised as being sold , please folks believe me Southern Indian Food leaves you addicted for more, not regretting that you’ve spent all that money on food that was so unpleasant that you couldn’t eat it at all . I’m sorry little India but you need to get yourselves a decent chef who can prepare super tasty and authentic southern Indian dishes , a proper flatbread oven and stop watering down condiments that wholesale cost pennies .

Delightful food, much of which wasn’t like any Indian food I’ve had before, served in a pretty unique space too! I happily recommend!

Really nice atmosphere with great food, we will definitely go again. Just a minor thing, please find an odourless spray cleaner to use when customers are eating, it was a little off putting.
