I had a business meeting with a mentor at Folk Art recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like the spot. I had never been here before despite having lived in Atlanta since 1986. There’s plenty of parking in the back which is unique for this part of town. The atmosphere and decoration is very eclectic and unique for a diner. For me the best part was the excellence service by the staff. Everyone was friendly and very professional and checked in a good amount to make sure everything was going well. I had their very unique sweet potato pancakes, which also has some buttermilk, with strawberries and whipped cream as well as some banana soaked in some syrup and with walnuts. The cappuccino and coffee were tasty and fresh. Because they have a lot of Windows and thin doors. It is not very comfortable when it’s freezing outside, but if you sit in the interior part you’re fine. The food is affordable and well made.

Very impressed by this lil joint! immediately met by some of the friendliest service i’ve had the pleasure of experiencing, shoutout Mark! Delicious cup of black coffee and a fresh and crispy Veggie sandwich i will 100% return for. Perfectly cooked over easy egg and a nice greasy cup of breakfast potatoes. cute interior and pleasant music, not too loud but not too quiet. make this a priority on your breakfast, brunch, and lunch lists! bravo, folk art.

This is a really cute local spot. The food is tasty but the service is even better. We got the short ribs (which were really tender) & grits. Our server Cameron was fantastic! Personable, funny & attentive without hovering. Will definitely go back & try something new.

The food wasn’t good at all. We had a party of 5 and even though our waitress was very friendly and professional the food wasn’t good at all. We had shrimp fries chicken and waffles, kids burger, breakfast burger, and French toast were over cooked and dry. It was very cold and not a good place for larger groups. We were crammed into a small booth. The coffee was gross and the compote for the chicken and waffles tasted like cleaner.

Food was pretty bland— not very seasoned and overpriced for my experience. I had heard a lot of great press about this place on social media but maybe I went on the wrong day. Had the Fowl Play—flavors and textures really didn’t mesh well, the waffle had a nice bite to it and was quite fluffy but again, the flavors of the compote, chicken and waffle even with the syrup were very one note. No dimension to it.

This was our first time trying this place. Staff was friendly but the food left a lot to be desired. And to top it off, there’s a surcharge for paying with your credit card.

Foul play: the waffle was the only thing worth eating. The peach compote was an interesting blend of flavors but didn’t really add much to the overall meal. The chicken was tender but had absolutely no seasoning… like none.

Steak and eggs: again no prep on the meat, lacked flavor. Was ordered as medium, but served as medium well.

Reuben sandwich: not good, per my husband and he’s had this sandwich at many other establishments who get it right.

Maybe we just went on an off day because they have a lot of good reviews, but none of us enjoyed our main course. We only ate it because we don’t like to waste food.

Good food, drinks, service and atmosphere. I had the bad to the bone sandwich which consisted of pork, collard green cole slaw, grilled onions, cheese and BBQ sauce and it was really good. The avocado cucumber salad was really good also. The collards had a great flavor but were a lil tad on the crunchy side. All in all this is a really cute solid restaurant with an impressive menu. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant today. After a long drive and busy morning we enjoyed the best service from Cameron . Our omelettes and pancakes were delicious. It was nice to be in a relaxed atmosphere eating fresh food and having an attentive server with a great personality taking care of us . The mimosa flight was great ! I would recommend this restaurant and this server for a good breakfast or lunch ! Thanks Cameron for a great lunch ! We will be back in town soon to see you ! 5 stars

This place was amazing! From location to decor to the vibe! The waitress was nice and took her time explaining a few things to us about the menu. The food?!! SLAMMING!! We both ordered the fried fish and grits with eggs. That sauce tho! Eating everything together was like a party in my mouth! All the flavors complimented each other, and that crunch on that fish!! Perfection! If your in the area or if u live in atl and haven’t tried Folkart make it your biz to run not walk there! And when I visit again I’ll be sure to try something else!
