Staying at a close by hotel and decided to have a look for somewhere nice for dinner. Fitzpatrick’s did not disappoint. As this was last minute I hadn’t made a booking. Walked in and was able to get a table in about 15mins, but I do recommend booking as this was a week night and was pretty busy. The team member who hosted our table was really lovely and good craic. The food portions were very healthy and tasted delicious. I was stuffed by the end of it! The place was done up with all the Christmas decorations which made it even better.

My Fiance and I absolutely loved the atmosphere of Fitzpatrick’s! There was so much to look at! I would love to see it at Christmas! Any staff we spoke with was friendly, professional and helpful, food piping hot and was quite tasty Pre-booking is advisable as they are very busy, although we didn’t mind, we just looked around the place and our 45 min wait flew in!

Service was unfortunately awful.

Staff were inattentive.

I understand that this was a very busy afternoon, Saturday 7th March, but it had appeared that there was no clear plan of service.

Five or six staff members attended multiple tables, ours was ignored. I had to ask eight different members of staff for a jug of water for the table before it finally arrived.

I had to wait thirty minutes for my main to arrive after everyone else at my table had theirs. When I asked when I could expect it, I was told I had to wait longer.

I asked the head of the party to order the Goats Cheese Crostini, as I was arriving later. When it finally did arrive it was tiny. Barely the size of a starter.

There was more Rocket garnish on the plate than the actual order. Which felt like either overcompensating or passive aggression.

Asked for a manager, who explained that this dish comes in two sizes.

I had asked if the server had made this clear to the person ordering, the manager said no.

I then asked if it was ordered as a mains, to which she replied yes. I then asked if it was logical to assume it would be in the same proportions to a main meal.

I was offered a dessert as compensation, when advised that this would not be acceptable, I was then asked did I want to offer my compensation to anyone else at the table.

While we stayed for one more drink, no one had dessert.

Poor service from an otherwise great spot. Very disappointed.

Great pub, food and atmosphere!
I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and i wasn’t disappointed. The food was very good and so was the Guinness and it was really nicely decorated for Halloween.
I will go back when visiting Dundalk next time.

Simply one of the coolest pubs in Ireland. Easily described as a feast for the eyes.
Food is exceptional with large portions, the chowder is spot on, but don’t go past the steak .

There is a mini farm and the place is always setup for Christmas, with S NTA onsite for the kids.

Going here has become a Halloween yearly thing for our family now. We complete a 148 mile round trip to make the visit and it’s honestly so worth it I love the style of the bar, the atmosphere, the food, the service and the scare trail Honestly cannot fault a single element of it. The staff are so friendly and have great banter and rapport with the people you can tell must be regulars. They’re so friendly when serving you and so welcoming and accommodating to kids, which is important to us. The food alone is worth the journey. Absolutely stunning and the portions are brilliant, worth every penny. The kids menu isn’t just bog standard usual stuff either, kids steak is a great addition. This year I completely messed up the date of our tickets and rang in advance and Marian sorted me out/the staff on the day, which I really appreciated. I recommend this place regularly to other people because I’m confident you couldn’t not like it! I will be back next year, if not before

What a place!! Tip – book a table, gets busy all the time. Very extensive menu and lovely stuff. Relatively well priced for a popular place. Cater well for bigger parties and birthday parties. Serving staff very polite and helpful

This was my first experience of the place. I’ve heard lots of good things about it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the quaint decor. The food was well worth the wait. The staff were excellent in that they were warm and friendly with not just us but a couple of tables that were seated around us. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Ireland.

Dissapointed with the food. Had pasta dish. White wine and mushroom sauce! So hard to find the mushroom and they must have only used a drop of wine. I’ve had this dish in many places and this was the weakest.
With the amount of old memorabilia everywhere, I would suggest a wooden or tiled floor. Much easier to clean. I’m convinced I was bitten by something. Not once but a number of times. I ended up putting my legs out to the side which was fairly uncomfortable, but a lot better.
We left as soon as we were finished eating . Maybe I should have said something to our waitress but she was a lovely girl and I felt there was nothing she could have done.
I do have to say the flowers outside were really beautiful
