amazing vibe, and the sweetest bartender. essentially the best definition you could get of a hidden gem. if you have free time on the weekend bring some friends for one of their themed nights! great drinks, fun games, nice snacks, and a chill vibe. not much more you could ask for, and something needed in mcdowell.

Had a blast at The High Dive at MT on their opening weekend! The folks at MT never cease to amaze me, ever evolving to add more options for us to enjoy right in our small town of Marion. The High Dive is MT’s newest concept – a true dive bar that feels like a different bar when you walk up the steps of the historic downtown building right off main street. Love the pool theme with colorful beach balls covering the ceiling, electric waves, and fun pool signs. Music is fun, lights are dimmed, bartenders are cool, and there’s a tv showing fun shows/videos. No MT beer here (you can get that downstairs or at their other location in Nebo) think pool/beach drinks – White Claw, Yuengling, Miller High Life, Blue Moon, etc. a great selection of fun cans/bottles. I even tried a new to me beer, Forst, a lager, which was great! They also have some of my favorite top shelf bourbons and my new favorite, Casamigos Reposado tequila. Just want a Crown and coke, vodka and soda, or a shot of cotton candy vodka? They got that too! Pair your drink with a fun snack that you don’t allow yourself to buy at home – oreos, goldfish, chips, Chex-mix, you name it! The price point is awesome – had 2 beers for $6 and some change and also a good bang for your buck on the top shelf liquors. Definitely a place to drop in during the weekend after dinner for “one more drink” and a snack or to make a fun night of it with friends!
