Simply Starry
I always see the parking lot parked at this place
well they do have good food so I must say I was impressed with this little restaurant bar
in the back of the bar they have a nice little restaurant area very comfortable very cozy
classic Northwoods motif
I had the haddock fish fry in my sister had the famous I guess chicken
and my mother had popcorn shrimp
I was impressed with my fish it was not soaking in Greece that had good flavor there are three nice pieces
the french fries for crisp and hot and a very nice slice of wonderful soft rye bread with butter and a very small cup of very good coleslaw
my sister loved her chicken she says it’s very famous and probably the best chicken she’s ever had around
the waitress we had the original one wasn’t the friendliest
it took a while for her to wait on us
and it certainly wasn’t busy
the sound overall I would say the disappointing part was the one waitress but these younger girls came in and there is really bubbly and nice and definitely made up for the older one
I would recommend this place for sure

and my sister says I’ll stand in chicken

Just love the place. We stopped for lunch. In talking to Kayla are waitress and bartender we found out the place was remodeled. It’s a really nice place to stop. Very busy and popular for a reason 🙂
Stopped in for a steak sandwich and it was very good! Talk to the people that were really good to me! A very nice crowd!

Edit 8/5/22 Had to try steak night. It wasn’t bad. Good taste but small. No chance of overeating. I would order again. Service was better but not many people there.
Edit July 10, 2023…chili and pot stickers still shined through for us. This time I had jumbo shrimp with coconut bread. This was 1000x better than the popcorn shrimp (see below). My husband ordered jalapeno chicken wrap and he loved it. It wasn’t spicy but they have jalapenos on the side.
Drinks- super cold
Food- super hot
Service- both times, once you get your food, don’t expect anyone to come back to refill your drinks or even ask if you need anything else or how’s it tasting. Getting your bills takes forever. Other customers and ourselves had to eventually had to wait at the bar to get the bar. Then wait some more. The waitress does the best she can but, expect long waits or no refills.

My husband absolutely loved the chili. Finally a place that doesn’t think chili is seasonal. I was less impressed with the popcorn shrimp. The batter held the grease. The fries and the shrimp tasted the same. I didn’t finish it. I think a lady at the bar was eating jumbo shrimp and it looked breaded, so maybe that’s better. The salad was simple, fresh shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and cheese with a generous portion of dressing. The hamburger was ok, my husband prefers a bit more flavor than a bacon cheeseburger, but one of the speciality burgers would be better. The burger was pretty good size tho. The service…well there was one lady running the whole place. Didn’t get as many drinks as we would have liked- lost money for a bar. We had to wait 10 minutes just to pay our bill. Even one more person besides the cook would have made a difference. We will try again, but don’t buy the popcorn shrimp!! My only other complaint – in the entrance there is a fake Christmas poinsettia. It was heavily payed in dust. It’s not something you want to look at right before eating.

We hadn’t been in a while due to covid, etc. but honestly, what a tight ship they run!! The tacos were great, the fries cames out piping hot & the staff really hustles!! Great margaritas, ice cold beer, good crowd & the jukebox was playing are favorite songs! Thanks guys!!

I am from the area originally but have lived elsewhere for the past 10 years and now am back and I have to say this place was amazing! We came in during a snowstorm so it was really slow and I think they were going to close down soon but served us dinner and some drinks anyways and made conversation with us too. The food was great and the service and atmosphere was amazing too! 12/10 would recommend to anybody, local or not.

Overall worth the trip. Very SLOW service, (may have forgotten our order, twice) but the curds and dinner was good, so where the drinks. Price was good as well. I’d try it again either way.
