Opened in 1998, Galway Bay has become a well-known Annapolis tradition, built on fine Irish Hospitality. Michael Galway and Anthony Clarke, along with a team of dedicated service veterans with 10+ years with the company, have set the standard for how a real Irish pub and restaurant is measured. Galway Bay has been recognized as Best Irish Pub every year since 2000, Best Bartender 2016, Best Trivia Night, featured in Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and most recently as a runner-up for “Best Irish Pub Global”. Zehra took excellent care of us and was super fast with everything. She also had a great personality. The food was really good and I have been to Ireland so I would say they did a great job. I had the potato leek soup and shrimp platter. Shepherd’s pie mac n cheese and fish & chips were also amazing according to my friends. This place is definitely one I will return to when we come back for the sailboat show. The chocolate mousse for dessert was also very decadent and rich. I recommend it.

Nice pub I stopped at while exploring Annapolis. Tucked into the street and almost walked by it, but there is more room on the inside than you would originally think. Service was good and I had a drink before going back on my way. Would come back for food some time!

Absolutely loved this bar. Charming Irish style pub in Annapolis. My only gripe would be that they didn’t have Natty boh, but I won’t hold it against them too much. They did have Zadie’s which was an adequate substitute. Would love to check this spot out again, and get some food and a Guinness.

A little piece of Ireland right here!
Having visited several pubs in Galway, I can honestly say this one captures the true Irish spirit perfectly. The ambiance is spot-on, warm, dimmed lighting, Irish background music, and that familiar cozy decoration that makes you feel instantly at home.
The Guinness was excellent, just as smooth and rich as in Ireland, which is saying a lot! The food was a lovely surprise too, with even more variety on the menu than many places I tried in Galway. I had the cod, which was tender and perfectly cooked. The portion was a bit smaller than what I’ve had in Ireland, but the flavor was absolutely authentic that same delicious, crispy coating that makes fish and chips such a classic.
Overall, it’s a truly great pub and a very worthwhile experience. For a moment, I really felt like I was back in Ireland!

From the charming windows peering in and the wonderful architecture of the building alone is warm and welcoming! From the second you step through the doors you are transported into a new realm. On one side we have the option to dine finely with the most wonderful whiskey bar around town! On the other side you have a chance to learn the names of many around you in a traditional pub setting with pints flowing dark with Guinness and smiles and laughter shared with everyone around! The traditional feel you get with the traditional Irish music playing is like no other! When it comes down to food I personally have tried many items from their menu you and I’ve yet to receive something I haven’t fell madly in love with! Galway bay is cheers to many! The staff is OUT OF THIS WORLD AND YOU ALWAYS FEEL WARM AND WELCOMED!!!! Hats off to my favorite and the greatest Irish restaurant and pub I’ve ever experienced! I highly suggest anyone who visits Annapolis to make sure Galway is at the top of their list to experience! Side note…Galway at Christmas!!!!! Top tier!!!!!!

This is a must-visit if you’re in Annapolis! The food was great and the drinks, too. The eggnog is tremendous! I would have given this place 5 stars, but our table was abandoned my our server towards the end of our meal, and they charge extra for using a credit card.

Really amazing food. I would suggest a reservation for dinner to make sure you get a normal table, because the high tops are so tiny and pushed together that it’s very difficult to have a meal. Everyone loved the beef stew & I liked my lamb shepherds pie!

Always love dining here. Food is great, service is great, atmosphere is top notch. If you catch the times when live music is playing it is a wonderful relaxing place to hang out. I pop in here almost every time I am in Annapolis. Highly recommend giving them a try.
