Charlie’s Spic and Span in Las Vegas, NM is a sparkling cafe full of retro vibes, lighting pictures and vinyl booths. The service is fast and friendly with food to match. The cafe makes its own donuts every morning and tortillas throught the day– and you can watch them do it! Bags of puffy fresh tortillas are for sale up front. A really great place to visit with just a short hop off I-25 into Old Town Las Vegas. Bueno!

I’ve missed having fresh flour tortillas at home and this place hit the spot with their soft, delicious tortillas. Their apple fritter ain’t pretty but it’s massive and very tasty. Cream puff was perfect. A little pricey but worth it.

We were on vacation and checking out Google Maps for places to eat. The menu looked like it had something for everyone so we gave it a go.
When we got there at almost lunch on a Saturday there was a wait. We received a beeper. The wait, surprisingly was only 15 minutes.
Along with a huge diverse menu, they serve Starbucks coffee, fresh baked goods (donuts, small cheesecakes, and other delights) as well as bags of nice size fresh pressed and cooked tortillas. Some folks came in just for the coffee, baked good and tortillas.
Our waiter was Taylor (if the receipt is correct.) He was most helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu. Service here was prompt. We did have bit of trouble finding him for the bill but I think it was because that place was packed. Start (with wait time) to finish was just about an hour. Cash payment for the bill gave us a lower price than using a credit card.
We ordered a chicken fajita taco salad and a chicken/cheese burrito. The taco salad came with salsa which was too spicy for me so I skipped it. The salad had enough flavor. No skimping on the toppings. I would have to say this is one of the best fajita taco salads I have ever had and if we lived closer than 1,000 miles away I’d be in big trouble because I would eat here all the time.
My husband’s burrito was tasty but a little too spicy for me.
We ordered what they call an eclair – it’s basically a Long John with vanilla pudding on the inside and topped with chocolate frosting for $9. Some call it a Bismark (generally round) and the inside Bavarian cream. I did ask if the inside was homemade there. Yes, it is. We did not eat it there but waited until our hotel. We shared it. It was soft, delicious and that cream….yes I can tell it’s homemade.
If we are ever in the area again I would stop here.
P.S. The atmosphere got a knock off because it is noisy and not many places to sit to wait for a table.

We were recommended this place by a random guy at a gas station in Tucumcari. We were passing through, so we decided to stop by for some to-go items. We got a pastry the size of my head that was delicious. We also picked up some Empanaditas that were so awesome. Such a fun combo with the meat and Pinon nuts and raisins! 100 percent recommend buying everything

This place is awesome! Huge, food-hall style dining area was packed when I arrived, but they still had a seat for me. Fresh tortillas being made. Amazing display case with donuts, jelly rolls, cinnamon rolls, and more. Carne avocado skillet was delicious. I will definitely return the next time I’m in New Mexico!

Fantastic! So so so delicious! If you want authentic New Mexico this is for sure one of the most iconic restaurants in the state. The tortillas are out of this world!

There’s a reason we stop here every trip we make through. EVERYTHING is great, and most everything seems to be homemade. They make the tortillas in a machine in front of you. Both breakfast and lunch served all day. If we order breakfast, we definitely order the tortillas on the side (instead of toast). We also tend to order the popitas rather than the hashbrowns, again real big hunks of fresh potatoes. My wife had the chili relleno and eggs, and the relleno was out of the this world! I opted for a lunch “stuffy” (stuffed sopapilla) of ground beef and beans, with a side of rice, delicious. Both the red and green chilis were vegetarian and excellent, but very different. The red was thin, and very spicy. It went great with the beef and beans of the stuffy. The green was thick and chunky and more medium spice. Great with the eggs and relleno. If you’re not sure of your spice ability, order them on the side. We never have enough room for dessert but take a variety of cookies for the trip. We had a heart cookie, a biscochito, and a white chocolate macadamia… each one delicious and completely different from the other. If you haven’t had one before, go for the biscochito.
