First time eating here and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the seafood carbonara and a Cesar salad. The salad was par, but the main dish was excellent. Place was fairly busy, but my food still came quick. Waitress was great. Price seemed reasonable for an upscale Altoona restaurant. I’m looking forward to going back and trying more from the menu

Food was good, but didn’t wow me. Dessert was fabulous. Atmosphere and service were great. Went for our anniversary dinner, would go again.

Had a 75th birthday party at the Stone Cellar. It was excellent. All the guests complimented the service, food and the atmosphere. Heather and Bill could not have been more accommodating. Devon did an excellent job as server. Would recommend it to anyone.

We were celebrating our 50 anniversary. The waitress greeted us with a “Happy Anniversary” and from that moment on we were treated so special. Very attentive to every detail of our dining experience. Husband had a New York strip steak and I enjoyed the scallops. Both were 5 star. We plan to dine at the Stone Cellar again.

Went here for an anniversary. Architecture was pretty. Has a Renaissance-ish style. It is a bit echoey and the furniture arrangement could have been better, but is definitely a place worth checking out. There aren’t too many places this nice in the area and a lot of the value is in the atmosphere.
The staff was friendly. We had Devon serve us.
The food offerings were relatively simple and pricy. It was cooked in a way that the ingredients spoke for themselves. I had a steak and my wife had salmon.

Started out great, our waitress was fantastic, and the Parmesan Truffle Fries were delicious! Our waitress kept our glasses full and was timely in taking our order. As for the entree, we were so disappointed. I got the Pappardelle Pasta with Salmon, and my wife got the Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli. Both were absolutely bland and soupy. It really took away from the whole experience. The atmosphere was so great, but after our first bite, we were straining our eyes in the poor lighting to see if the food was even safe to eat. The chicken looked like it was microwaved, and the broccoli tasted as if it was an afterthought. Nothing came together. My salmon was super fishy smelling, but was at least tender. The empty bowl of way looks like soup is what was left, and my wife barely touched the chicken alfredo. The staff and first impressions were great, but the food really ruined the rest of the experience. Also, $85 after tip is not worth coming back unless it’s for some of those fries to-go.

If I’m being honest, I was underwhelmed. The atmosphere was great, but the food was not as good as I was hoping. My husband LOVED the scallops, but my alfredo was not the best. I would probably want to try something different next time. I had my eye on that lobster ravioli.

Very nice ambiance inside the restaurant but the waiting area is lacking and our party had to wait almost 30 minutes past our scheduled reservation time. We were seated next to a very loud party who seemed to have no regard for anyone else in the restaurant and knew some of the kitchen staff. Our waitress was inattentive while glasses sat empty and food took a long time to come out. The food, once served was very good though. Maybe the only redeeming thing of the night.
