I was pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Service was over the top. Food was very good. My Wife had the El Pastor and pineapple tacos. So very tasty. My Steak tacos were good as well. “SECRET FACT” Tuesdays are taco Tuesday with tacos marked down to $2! ENJOY!

Exceptional food. Great environment. Very good staff. We loved our food. The hottest hot sauce was like being back in Texas!!! ( not the table sauce they bring you, you have to ask for it) Wonderful flavors! Everyone must try. Looking forward to coming back for Taco Tuesday specials!

It’s nice to finally have a restaurant down south in Alexandria (no, Sharky’s doesn’t count as a restaurant). The food is delicious, but be aware that it is a different style of “Mexican” than the other Mexican restaurants in town. If you’re not sure what to get: order the tacos – they’re delicious, and it’s hard to be disappointed by a taco; especially if you’re new to this style of cuisine.

As for all the 1 star comments mentioning how long it takes to get seated: it is a bit slow, but they are a small family operation without a lot of help – so just be patient. If you absolutely NEED to order, receive your food, and eat – all in about 5 minutes flat, then stick to Taco Bell; it’s probably more of the “real mexican” food you’d be after anyway.

Their prices are a couple bucks higher than the other Mexican joints in town, but I consider this a convenience fee, since they are about 3 or 4 miles closer to me than the others. It might not seem like a big difference, but to me it’s kinda of a big deal. Also, if you get one of their burritos, you will not think the price is too high – these things are enormous! Absolutely love ’em!

So stop on by with a little patience and an open mind, and I think you’ll really enjoy this little spot. Give ’em a chance. I really hope they stick around.

This my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Northern Kentucky!!
We walked in and got seated in just a minute or two, ordered our drinks and the server had them out in just a few minutes. The horchata was amazing!!! It was not the fake powder mix most restaurants use, it tasted like real horchata. ( The only thing I regret is not getting one to go!!)
Our food was also out super fast after we ordered it. I ordered tacos de asada, and they were 100% just like the ones in Texas that I would always miss. My husband ordered chori pollo and says it was actually an authentic chorizo, which he has never had here in Northern Kentucky.
The tortillas de maiz are actual quality Mexican tortillas that other restaurants always skimp out on.
Not only was this place super fast, the server was super nice, the atmosphere was lovely, but the food was delicious and !!!ACTUALLY AUTHENTIC!!! Anyone who says this place is not authentic must never have had actual Mexican food.
We are going to be coming here all the time, it is the closest thing to the Texas and Mexican food we would always miss once we came back up here to Kentucky. No other restaurant around here compares authenticity and taste wise. I’m excited to come back and try more things. They have a lot on the menu!
We actually just had Chapimex cater for our wedding and they were beyond amazing. The food was delicious and affordable. They were very kind and arrived on time, the food was kept warm and there was enough for all the guests. Months after our wedding, we still have guests asking who catered because they say it was the best food they’ve ever had.

Ate here after church for lunch. I had tacos and my husband had the molcajete. I had a shrimp taco and pork w/pineapple taco. I liked that they had onions and generous cilantro. Both were excellent. The molcajete was giant. Since I only had two tacos, I took a few bites of the molcajete and we still had a healthy leftover portion. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Campbell County. We will be back!

The food is generally good. The service needs work. You can speak in either of the two languages, but two of my orders came being not what I asked for. You need to enunciate and make sure the server understand what you’re ordering. They don’t read your order back to you.

Another thing to watch for is your drinks. My soft drink got taken away from me before I finished it. The server took my glass for a “refill”. When I got the check, I realized it wasn’t a refill but two full-price drinks. In my opinion, I want to be asked first if I want another glass of soft drink at full price.

The men’s room is dirty. The towel dispenser doesn’t work and the only urinal there is out of service, covered with a large piece of plastic. The toilet water tank is missing a lid and you have to figure out how to flush when you’re done.

Best restaurant is the proverbial hole in the wall, you know the one you don’t want to tell everybody about because the food is so good! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever had sauce taste so good The homemade dip for the chips is fantastic I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant and I’m surprised that more people are not there every single day!
If we can get more people coming here I’m sure the atmosphere inside will brighten up you can honestly see that they are focusing more on the food than everything else. It is not a slam against the establishment it just shows that they want to have good service good food for good people living in Alexandria!

The initial salsa and chips were not good the chips a little stale and the salsa had the consistency of tomato soup with not much better flavor, the cheese dip was just that melted cheese. Our entree meals were very good. Our host / waiter was very attentive and polite after getting his attention. The restaurant was clean and decor was nice.

LITERALLY my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Alexandria! My husband and I have ordered something different each time (we have been 3 times total), and nothing has disappointed us yet. We have had steak, nacho dishes, enchiladas, multiple burritos… Huge servings, fresh food, and phenomenal flavors. Like others have stated, this is authentic cuisine and not Americanized like the other Mexican restaurants in the area. The food does take a little longer, and service is a little slower than other restaurants because this is a family-owned and operated business. Give this place a chance. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
