We had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience at The Bayou! From start to finish, everything was exceptional.

We started with the cornbread with honey butter — so flavorful. Then we had the cast-iron pierogies topped with lump crab and lobster in cognac butter. Hands down, the best pierogies I’ve ever had in my life! Between the three of us (my mom, my best friend, and me), we shared the Nashville hot chicken mac & cheese, the chicken and waffle sandwich, the sweet mash casserole, and the jalapeño grits. Every single dish was incredible. And to finish, the beignets were perfection. Truly 10/10.

To make our experience even better, our waitress Ques, was phenomenal and a breath of fresh air. She was knowledgeable, personable, funny, and made us feel so welcome. She guided my mom around the spicier dishes and recommended her personal favorites, and every time she came to our table, we couldn’t help but smile.

The food, the service, the atmosphere — everything about The Bayou was amazing. The music they played went with the vibe of the whole place. We’re traveling from Delaware and staying overnight to see a show close by, and the front desk recommended this restaurant. We’re already planning our next visit just to come back to eat. Highly, highly recommend!

The restaurant is a cozy, rustic-chic atmosphere that provides great vibes and a casual dining experience. The staff was pleasant, professional, attentive and welcoming. The exceptional Southern comfort was beyond delicious with generous portions. The starters of cast iron pieroges with crabmeat and cornbread with honey butter is with the top alone. The Jambalaya, Nashville Mac & Cheese, Nashville hot honey fried chicken and side sweet mash was delightful. A definite return visit.

Just last year I was in New Orleans and craving good southern cooking. Finally the wait was over, and boy did I find the place that reminded me so much of there right in my own backyard! The Bayou is an amazing New Orleans southern style restaurant with even the cook New Orleans trained. The general manager, Rachel is incredible with her kind spirit and makes you feel like Family from the second you walk in and even though there are plenty of waitresses, she will still go above and beyond just to make sure you are happy with everything and gets you everything just the way you like it. After trying a catfish Po sandwich, brisket po sandwich, jambalaya, cornbread (which I have a picture of 1 slice!!), and of course for desserts if you’re gonna do Southern, you better get the beignets and bread pudding which comes with vanilla ice cream. I say 100/100 for this place! I’m so happy New Orleans is finally in my backyard. I have my go to place from here on out!

Atmosphere and ambiance were great. Food took a little longer than expected to come out. We got the chicken & waffles, jumbolaya, hush puppies, & the cauliflower bites.

The chicken was bland, waffles were fine and the hush puppies were not burnt, but they were “extra well done.” They were too crispy for us to enjoy it. Everything else was fine. Will try other entrees next time. Waiter was great,
atmosphere was great.

My wife and I wound up a Bayou because our first two choices were closed due to the new year holiday. This was our first time here. We were greeted quickly and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is very cozy and has that southern feel as the name implies. Our waitress (Ques) was absolutely fabulous! She gave us suggestions on menu items and took our drink orders. I had a blue Bayou (delish) and my wife had the voodoo juice (also wonderful). Our appetizer was fried green tomatoes that were amazing. The two entrees were crispy catfish for myself and the spare ribs for the wife. Sides were collard greens, dirty rice, corn bread and hoppin John’s. I have to say, everything came out in a timely manner and was absolutely awesome! We couldn’t say enough how glad we were to wind up here by chance. Ques is by far, one of the best servers we’ve met. Instead of telling you how good the food and service is, try it for yourself and hopefully you will agree that this is a great place. One regret! I didn’t try the Hushpuppies!! I’ll be back for them.
Thank you Bayou and a bigger thank you to Ques for making a great place even better.

I keep on coming to this establishment. Staff is very friendly and the mocktails are amazing for someone that doesn’t drink alcohol. The French Onion soup is a MUST. I am in LOVE with the Mac n Cheese options they have. If you’re also looking for a nice sweet treat the Beignets are truly sublime. My Girlfriend had the Chicken and Waffles and it was amazing chicken was crunchy and the waffles were perfect the spicy syrup was a great idea might need a little work it does taste like Franks Red Hot and Syrup combined but still an amazing idea. Truly a place to stop and enjoy amazing food.

If you’re even thinking about trying The Bayou… just go. Trust me.

We kicked things off with warm cornbread and honey butter that should honestly be illegal. Golden, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Then came the cast iron pierogis topped with lump crab meat and a rich cognac butter and lime crema sauce savory, indulgent, and absolutely unforgettable.

The chicken and waffle sandwich? Chef’s kiss. Crispy, juicy, sweet, savory… every bite melted in my mouth with the bacon jam and maple aioli. And the jalapeño grits? OMG. Creamy with just the right kick I would drive back for those alone. The Nashville mac and cheese brought a little heat in the best way, and the sweet mash potatoes with brûléed marshmallow fluff were basically dessert disguised as a side dish.

We’re currently waiting on beignets and I’m about to explode… but they must be eaten hot and fresh, so sacrifices will be made.

It’s a bit of a hike (we are from out of state) but completely worth it for an epic date night. And whatever you do, ask for Ques! She is delightful, energetic, and helped us navigate every decision and somehow each dish topped the one before it.

10/10. No notes. We’ll absolutely be back.

The iced tea was definitely a highlight—perfectly brewed and refreshing. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the pictures. The shrimp and grits, in particular, had an excessively sweet flavor that didn’t quite work for me. Overall, the food was average. I was hoping for more.

Unfortunately was not a good experience. This place used to have the best fried chicken yet that is not the case anymore. We had to wait for our food over 40 minutes, the server only came to take our order and bring our check and the food was all burned. Some of the chicken was fridge cold and the other half was hot. To top it all off, there was barely any chicken and mostly breading. We will not be coming back since charging customers over $25 per plate, a better service is expected.
