This is a very unique spin on your classic hot dog spot. Various different combination of what you would call a hot dog. But not using the traditional hot dog sausage blend. I had the Rougarou. Which was absolutely fantastic. The bread they use for the bun really brings it to the next level. Fresh soft interior with a very light flaky crust. They have several locations and I can see why. Lots of menu choices for those that want to return and try some of their other items. I will definitely be back there again. Prices were very reasonable, wait time for the food was normal. And staff was extremely friendly. It really gives a good Chicago dog a run for its money

Was not impressed. Very expensive and overpriced for what you get. My hot dog was lukewarm and the chili cheese was warm at best. The bun was amazing however. Ordered sliders without onions and it came out full of onions, the person who took our order even stated you stated no onions when they handed it to us. The onions are diced and everywhere too, I scraped them off versus waiting. Made a special trip to try this place out and won’t go back.

Anytime I’m walking down Magazine Street with the family, we always make a stop at Dat Dog. This location is perfect—nice, wide open, and super family-friendly with a great outdoor area that’s perfect for hanging out.

This time I went with my usual Chicago Dog and, for the first time, tried the Dat Burger. Both were fantastic! Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff was friendly as always, and the vibe was fun and laid-back—exactly what you want from a New Orleans spot.

Dat Dog on Magazine never misses. Great food, great atmosphere, and always a fun stop with the family.

Amazing hot dogs and very creative variety. Had the Bacon werewolf and it was perfect. Wife had the crawfish dog and man I couldn’t believe how good the sausage tasted. Service was good both for food and drinks. Will definitely make this a stop when in town.

It is a very unique place to get a hot dog. The hot dogs are very fancy and have a lot of different condiments on them. I’m sure most people would like them. I’m just not a foodie, so I like basic. I’m sure in the evening on a Friday or Saturday night to the atmosphere would be amazing.

Always have to stop at Dat Dog when visiting New Orleans. My hot dog loving husband opted for the a straight up beef dog with mustard, onion and relish. He gave it a five star approval. I tried the Dat Burger with seasoned fries which I just loved. The little person with us enjoyed a kid’s slider with tater tots followed by rainbow Dippin’ Dots. When walking to our car, she exclaimed, “Oh my gosh! That was good!” Enjoyed sitting outside on the patio; lots of seating available. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but as soon as we took a bite we forgot all about it.

Fantastic atmosphere and the food to go along with it. I got the Irish Channel Dog. I could taste the Guinness flavor in the sausage. The Andouille sauce brought it up to another level. My sausage was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My fancy wife got a plain hot dog with cheddar cheese. We both shared an order of fries. It was great to sit outside and enjoy some great food.

We stopped by to check out the dogs. I had an Italian, my wife had a duck sausage and my daughter had a grilled chicken sandwich. The service was great, beer was cold and the toppings were many to choose from. I enjoyed my dog. My wife really liked the duck, I thought it was good as well, and my daughter said her chicken was juicy and flavorful. I can say the tots were nice and crispy as well. Try it out if you get over on magazine st and crave a hot dog!

Not bad! The hotdogs were good (I think I may try something else if we’re back in NOLA again), but the kiddos loved it. They had chicken tenders, which my daughter got, that looked amazing also! It’s worth going at least once, especially if you have people who love hotdogs!
