Came here for a Saturday night dinner for two on a random fall evening. During the fall at least, I would definitely recommend a reservation, it was very busy around dinner time and without one we wound up waiting around for over an hour (which was the expectation they gave us). Since the weather was nice, we were at least able to enjoy waiting outside in the outdoor area they have on the side of the restaurant. Once we finally were sat, service was very friendly and pretty quick to boot. Ambiance felt very homey and I knew we were going to be in for a comfort food delight. We started off with the simple bread basket, but there really isn’t much better than hot fresh bread as far as I am concerned, although I usually prefer when it’s complimentary, I can’t complain that they at least kept it a fair price. For dinner I ordered the short rib stroganoff and my date got the single porkchop. Both were delicious, but if I’m only picking one, I think mine was the real winner. Portions are generous and quality isn’t lacking with the quantity either. We both really wanted to try their claim to fame of pies (both savory and sweet!) but we were too stuffed to have another bite. But that just gives us a reason to come back for more. That being said, they do even offer pies to go at a little hole in the wall right next to the main entrance in case you just want to grab and go, which I think is a great idea.

Excellent meal, wide selection on the menu, something for everyone in both food and drinks. Try the pan seared mozzarella and the crabcakes (pictured)! Also the paella (sorry no pic). Delicious! Followed by fabulous desserts.
Service was excellent, and it was a warm cozy place for Christmas dinner with coworkers.

February 2025 Review.
We visited The Cooperage Inn for my birthday celebration, and we were thoroughly delighted! It was a truly lovely establishment; both cozy and spacious. They offer three or four main dining areas, a bar, and outdoor seating for warmer weather (we eagerly anticipate trying that! Sun, please come soon; I want to go back and sit outside).
The food was outstanding; we sampled a wide variety of dishes. From the Tower Trio appetizer and mussels to their renowned pot pie and ribs, everything was delicious, but the cowboy steak was exceptional—the best I’ve ever tasted. It was incredibly tender and flavorful. They also have a convenient area where one can purchase their delicious frozen pies (savory and sweet) without entering the main restaurant. I took home a coconut cream pie, which was quickly devoured. The portions were quite generous. Check out the pictures! And go stop by and get something to eat. You will not be disappointed.

Some of food was wonderful. I had braised beef stroganoff, the meat was tough and barely any sauce. Fish was good. Steak special was delicious and the wedge salad it was served with was delightful and fresh. Had to pay $5 for a bread basket at a restaurant that was on the pricey side. Found that rather cheap. It came with a small plastic cup of butter. I would go again, there was a lot of good.

I had the chicken and stuffed shrimp – it was delicious, both for dinner and fire lunch the next day! Don’t miss the bread basket – nice selection and all delicious! I’ll be back!

This restaurant has pretty good food but they charge insane prices and the food cannot measure up. If they lowered the prices somewhat then it would make sense. But now, they charge more than NYC dining and it’s just not good enough. And honestly, how dare you charge for a basket of bread.

Good American cuisine. Used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Pet peeve was after asking for my meal to be wrapped up to take home I’m simply given a takeout tin. After wrapping up leftover appetizers and two dinners I need to go to the ladies room to wash my hands. When bringing it to the waitress and managers attention I received a phony smile and I’m sorry. The person I was with was so annoyed at the attitude they didn’t finish their drink or order dessert.
There are some great servers there whom I should have asked for. I won’t go back.

For over 11 years my husband and I have been going to the Cooperage Inn for all of our Special Occasions, yesterday was our Wedding Anniversary! We were seated and greeted by the most unfriendly waitress! She was impatient with us as to we didn’t want to rush our order when asked what the “Soup was” she had a BLANK and then said I only said it about 100 times today ugh.. We were like to ourselves, Ohh Boy.. we waited and waited when we decided on an appetizer she NO I need the FULL order, we were like okay, walks away again. I tried 2X’s to get her attention to put the FULL ORDER in and she completely ignored us. We decided to leave, I was very upset and have never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant, especially one that we have had such great experiences going to. Two drinks and the check.
