If you’re looking for a spot that feels like stepping into a piece of the Old West, but with good food, live music, and a friendly local crowd… this place nails it. The rustic décor, and western charm make it the perfect backdrop for their open mic nights. We went on a Thursday for open mic night.

The energy is was fun and relaxed, you’ll find everyone from seasoned musicians to song writers grabbing the mic. The food is hearty and flavorful, the kind of meal that makes you feel at home (we had fried bologna sandwiches), and the drinks hit just right.

Whether you’re stopping in for dinner, local music, or just to soak up that small-town country atmosphere, this spot is worth checking out. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why local gems matter more than chain restaurants ever could.

Food was great. Lots of talents on Open Mic Night. The Bandana Brothers were my favorite. Keep an eye out for Sauter and Koda Jackson! These brothers blew the crowd away with two incredible songs and some seriously impressive guitar work.

Sauter even celebrated his 16th birthday on stage, proving he’s a star in the making with a voice and stage presence that commands attention. Whether it’s country, rock, blues, or folk, this duo has the talent and the “it” factor to go all the way. Follow me on Instagram – @thecannyadventurist for a deeper dive into my reviews.

Very nice people. They have live music there often. We made reservations for the music but we’re put on a wait list. We did get a table. I just had a sandwich but it was good.

This is a pretty cool spot apparently from music and drinks. The food is pretty good but it’s very meat and three. I was able to spot an inch and a half thick thick ribeye that wasn’t on the menu the chef Deborah Brenda cooked up perfect temp, and hooked us up. Coolest thing about this places if you really want a tree walk next-door to the country boy and go downstairs and there’s a really cool speakeasy. There’s no sounds from the speakeasy and you don’t even know it there and they have really good drinks and a really good atmosphere. Great customer service both places, highly recommend about.

Cannot speak for the food but I can tell you that they do have a fun atmosphere that is inviting and a bar where you can order some drinks. Do not expect full bar service nor a full menu of drinks here though. Very disappointing that the bartender couldn’t even make a simple Manhattan… The live music though however makes up for it and I do recommend!

We only popped in for some ice cream as we were traveling all day and needed a stop. What better place than the quant & historic little country town of Leipers Fork with the Fox & Locke restaurant and bar right in the middle. Live music was being performed by four guitarist and singers with different and unique personally written songs as well as established country songs. The place was packed and everyone was enjoying a relaxing reprieve from the bright sunshine and traveling on a Labor Day weekend. The ice cream did the trick for us and we continued to explore the rest of country lifestyle surroundings.

The food is average, but the experience is phenomenal. The staff is very accommodating and hospitable as you would think in the south. I go every time I am in Nashville. The music is intimate and raw.

Historic place in the heart of middle Tennessee. Definitely an iconic restaurant in an iconic town.
Step back in time and enjoy the real taste of small town America. Service, vibes and food are all great!

Wow! What an amazing night. We’re in town visiting friends and they got us a table for the Fox & Locke open mic night that takes place on Thursdays. It was almost 3 hours of nonstop performances by up and coming musicians with a few old timers thrown in.

There’s a full bar and table service. I got the quinoa burger which was actually very tasty. The service was very friendly and our drinks were kept fresh all night.

But the real magic is getting so see the next generation of super stars on the rise. 18 acts packed into a 3 hour time slot. Each performer played two songs and it was incredible what a well oiled machine the stage production is.

Whoever is running the sound board deserves an award! Each act ranged from a single artist on guitar to piano to a full band with three guitars, a bass, and drums plus 4 mics. Every artist sounded crisp and clear, which is impressive when you only have a 2-3 minute transition time between performers.

Highlights of the night were Ollee Owens’ cover of Etta James and The Bandana Brothers’ standing ovation. I don’t know if it’s always like this, but it felt pretty magical that artists were just dropping into each others’ sets with zero rehearsal and, even when they were obviously messing up, it sounded incredible and you could tell they were having a lot of fun.

All the artists hang around in the back so my advice is to say hi and give a compliment on your way to or from the bathroom.

Such a quaint little spot. The food was perfect! The staff were just the right amount of southern sass with a smile. Great variety at the bar. If ever you find yourself out and about in Liepers Fork be sure to stop in!
