I have been in hospitality industry for too long worked with some high end restaurants and hotels.
Went on friday 12th around 9:15 as a walkin it was my friends birthday and he was hungry and he does eat steak got greated by Hostess and they even sang happy birthday for my friend and that was very impressive and i thought we are having a very good start.
Got sat and greeted by a lady waiter and i asked her about the menu revillion if they have any vegetarian choice she said no and did not have enough knowledge about menu as she was reading the menu infront of us.
I asked her if i can order a la carte vegetarian any appetizer+ soup/salad+ maincourse she was lost and tells me which i have never heard in my life waitress said to me” IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO COME TO RIB ROOM” me and my friend was shocked that she just said that.
I ignored and we ordered two cocktails my friend ordered turtle soup and i ordered fried green tomato as a veg appetizer it came out on time but served with pork belly when it arrived the waitress said “ i’m sorry i forgot to tell you that it comes with meat” sent back came out later after my friend finished his turtle soup and came out plain no sauce nothing, worst fried green tomato ever had as i am from here and i had it in many place.
She din’t even bother to check with kitchen if they can make any sauted veggies or any entree while i can see they have side pasta, veg and cream spinach and for me money is never a issue i can even pay $50 if any restaurant can make any maincourse for me.
My friend ordered NY STRIP and i ordered broccolini and side truffle mac and cheese.
Food was amazing i liked the sides my friend enjoyed the steak but it does not come with any sides.
.
At 10:15 i asked for dessert menu she said “we do not have much to offer on dessert we only have cheese cake and kitchen is close anyways” while i can see other tables are getting all fancy dessert and i have seen dessert menu online too before i came.
Our experience was horrible and my friend was upset too he felt bad for me that i couldn’t eat anything i always order 4 round of drinks with my app, salad/soup, mains and dessert but decided not to order anything from here anymore as it clearly shows waitress don’t care about her job neither the sales of the restaurant.
I meet lot of people specially foodies and i would never recommend anyone to come to this restaurant.
We both ordered the prime rib, pomme puree and creamed spinach, and every dish was phenomenal! The Prime rib had a delicious, flavorful crust that was cooked to perfection, the au jus and horseradish paired perfectly with it! The potatoes and spinach were also wonderful.
After we closed out our bill, we headed over to their cocktail bar and enjoyed their Christmas themed menu, and our drinks were strong and delicious! Our bartenders were amazing too! We loved celebrating our new engagement with a special meal and a memorable experience here! I also appreciated the live music and singer!
A must visit when you’re downtown.
We had fried oysters with the glaze sauce that were lackluster as an appetizer they were warm, but definitely not hot. We had a shrimp cocktail, which was probably the most bland and worst shrimp cocktail we have ever had anywhere. The shrimp were without any flavor as if they were just boiled and water, then thrown on top of some shaved ice with some cocktail sauce. My wife’s Caesar salad was lackluster and the chicken andouille gumbo that I had was also subpar for the rib room.
We have reservations for dinner tonight and are hoping that the prime rib will fire exceed the lackluster taste in presentation of our lunch.
The service felt very mechanical. Our waitress seemed to be going through the motions and not operating at the level you’d typically expect here. To be fair, everyone can have an off night, and that wasn’t really the centerpiece of the issue.
We split a filet with creamed potatoes and the cream cheese spinach. The frustrating part is that the food actually had good flavor. The problem was temperature. The entire meal arrived less than warm. Not just one dish. Everything. Another key note is that we ordered the 10 ounce and it was nowhere near this and obviously a 6 ounce fillet. I brought this to the waitresses attention and she only told me they were out of the 8 ounce and that was absolutely a 10. Anyone who’s been around the grill could easily see this is not the case and again did not feel like going down the path of sharing my thoughts on this as I just wanted to enjoy my night.
You can understand the occasional plate needing a quick reheat, but when every item on the table feels like it sat under a lamp too long, it points to a back-of-house issue.
We finished with bread pudding that arrived completely cold. At that point there was no value in sending anything back. Something was clearly off with the kitchen flow.
For the price point, you expect much tighter execution. I hope they address it, because otherwise they risk falling into the typical hotel restaurant trap.
The best way to describe the evening: what could have been.
Highly recommend!
