This restaurant is great for introverts. You get a number at the front, that will be your seat number. Various screens will lead you to where your seat is. Chopsticks, tea, soy sauce etc are all available at your seat. Ginger, ponzu and wasabi can be taken off the conveyor belt.

For food, either take what you like off the conveyor belt or order through the screen at your seat or on your phone. Ordered dishes will come on the upper conveyor belt. When you are done, slid the dishes into a slot at your seat.

There’s a bit of disconnect between the phone ordering site and your actual orders. When checking out, the phone site told me I haven’t slid a couple of plates into the slot even though I did. Server had to come to update the system manually.

Our main focus on our Japan trip was food, and the best sushi we had was at Kura Sushi. The conveyor-belt concept was fascinating and honestly it was fun. It took us a little time to figure out the ordering system, but once we did, there was no stopping us. The sushi was fresh and delicious. What really stood out was how seamlessly automated everything was—from check-in to seating to ordering. Efficient, fun, and memorable.

A thoroughly fun and yummy experience! So many different types of sushi (and more) to try, and even more to order… all at reasonable prices that made it feel good to order additional dishes. We paid an extra 10 yen per plate for a guaranteed prize (we got a little chopstick rest), and between the two of us we had 15 plates at the end. Next time we’d probably do 10 (5 each) now that we know we what like most.

Most aspects of this restaurant are automated, including finding your way to your seat! But the few interactions we had with actual staff were very friendly and welcoming. I’m glad we didn’t skip this experience.

A rather average place. There are better ones in Shinjuku. I expected more variety but what we had was good. The estimated wait time from the machine is very much on the conservative side. We got a table much faster.

Allergens listed on separate PDF, you can also find PDF online and on digital menu at the table (home page of menu).

As someone with egg, peanut and dairy dietary restrictions, I was so happy to find tempura I could have. They also have some vegan sorbets. Wait times can be long so reserve online or walk in, grab a number and pray you get a seat to wait. Some warly afternoons there is no wait.

Highly recommend:
– both the shrimp and crab leg tempura sushis
– tuna belly gunkan

I found the seaweed soup too fishy… but I’m a foreigner.

They give you a magnet prize if you order MANY dishes.

Good fun. Reservation online. Arrived 20 minutes early but still had to wait till our time, which was fine. Place to sit whilst waiting. The Sushi was mostly nice. Fun trying different types. Won on the game thingy. Had about 20 dishes between 2 people and couple of beers. Altogether spent about £20 each. The best part was the atmosphere.

Overall we found the Restaurant cool. It was our first time and did not know how to reserve and how to order. We did not reserve a table so we waited a bit. We were happy that a table for three was then ready for us instead of one counter space each. The Restaurant was full, it was quite loud but it’s ok. It is also nice to experience that. The guy we asked was kind enough to tell us how to order. Thank you.

Belt sushi is a great choice when you want something fast and easy to eat. The quality of the food is always good and it’s a world-known brand. The sushi is better when you are here. With the wide array of options, there is always something to try and you never know what will come next. Or you can order on the tablet on the table for items you want. Peak time there is always a wait. So if you dont want to wait come off peak times. Sign in and get your # then wait.

We’ve been to Kura Sushi back in California, and we wanted to compare the food and experience.

We were there on a Thursday at 6PM, and were seated right away. We ordered from the tablet as well as from the sushi belt. The food was delivered quickly.

Since the price of the sushi is so much cheaper that the ones we had in California, we certainly took advantage of the price and the varieties.

We can’t remember what we had, but most items were pretty good. It was a fun experience for all of us (4) and we definitely recommend it. It may not be the best sushi, but it was a lot of fun to share with family and friends.

I’m not a sushi expert and have been told this is not the fanciest of conveyor belt sushi restaurants. It doesn’t really matter to me. You can take a number online, even before getting there which makes the wait not so long. Once the number is called, it’s pretty easy to get seated. (See video)

It was up to my family liking, served fresh food and was very quick at processing orders direct to the table. Would always recommend, especially for a tourist visiting Japan for the first time.
