I can’t even begin how vital and important. It is to know that THIS Denny’s is by far. ( Though don’t tell anyone that, they don’t want to ruin the reputation as anything otherwise) truly , one of the best and greatest reliable restaurants in santa cruz , it’s still stands the time. It’s got so much history. It’s got such importance in this town and it still in the same location.

Unfortunately this Denny’s is a 50/50 chance it’ll be good. Last time I went 2 hours before closing and they refused to let us in and wouldn’t even come to the door to explain even tho they had other guests inside eating. Usually has tons of homeless hanging around.

The staff at midnight Friday night was very nice. This was the hangers out spot 20 years ago. They got rid of the big round booths, which really sucks. Booths are so much nicer than chairs. The counter seating being gone is lame too, but not as big of a disappointment as the large booths being gone.
The food is the same as it has always been. Cheap (quality, not price) greasy diner food better suited for munching when sobering up or stoned.
The fries are weird. I don’t know why they have strange wave fries and not normal fries.
It’s also a bummer it isn’t 24 hours anymore.
Prices have gone up of course, just like everything else.

Honestly, food was superb! Loved the meals and food. Milkshakes and smoothies were out of this world! The main issue was this branch was severely understaffed, only saw one staff and kitchen was almost deserted, not even sure how they kept this branch running.

Not busy but Michael and Sal treated us so efficiently. Very friendly staff. We loved the nachos and our breakfast burrito. Perfect visit on a rainy day. Want the perfect comfort bite come to Dennys. We really enjoyed our visit. Place a clean and comfortable. Need some music though. Over all great service. Keep it up you guys! We even enrolled in their reward program and got free cheesy sticks lit!

I had a very good experience at this dennys. I get the 2 crepes breakfast and add bacon to it. Even though they were out of fresh strawberries this day they put bananas and caramel on the crepes and it was fine. They even let me plug in and work for a few hours. Thank you!

It was freezing cold in there, maybe it was a few degrees warmer than it was outside and that’s why we stayed to eat. We were the only people dining at around 9:30 pm on a Friday night. The food was a bit below typical Denny’s expectations. I think the cook was mad because us coming in woke him up. They used all of the salt from the Pacific ocean the restaurant is close to on the fries, which other than like the ocean tasted like yesterday. You’ll have no problem finding the restroom. Just sniff the air and you’ll find your way. The closer you get the more the restaurant smells like urine. The server was good, probably because he was bored. When it’s after hours and you’re hungry, just go home and make a sandwich.

Placed 3 orders and paid online for a pick up and only received two. Was told they didnt have the 3rd order and didn’t know how to reimburse me for it.
The other two orders were also incomplete. Spicy skillet paid for two eggs in top and were not added. Mac & cheese looked half missing. No utensils either. Food was poorly made, definitely the WORSE Denny’s I been to.

I used to enjoy dining at this place, but this time, I was disappointed. The portion size was noticeably smaller, than usual !! and the waiter didn’t even bring any cutlery for us , we should wait . It was an unpleasant experience

Nastiest dennys I ever been too and the service is slow and dnt speak English ill never return had to walk to back an get my own food it was sitting so long refuse refund and food not ready within time they give in an empty restaurant sad but I expect that from the help I saw pitiful will definitely call corporate. DONT WASTE TIME
