Compliments to the entire Mr. Paul’s Staff! We enjoyed our anniversary dinner here and it was a phenomenal experience. We made a reservation and the staff right away congratulated us on our anniversary. We started with some Tartare & it was amazing! We had a small ceasar salad between our app & entree which was good as well. For entrees we had the Stroganoff & the Duck (special for the day) both were exceptional, compliments to the chefs for drinks we got the Espresso Martini & Born on the Bayou. Both were great cocktails! We look forward to coming again soon, as we found our new favorite restaurant.

LONG REVIEW: If you’re looking for a standout dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this exceptional restaurant! We drove from Milwaukee to Edina, MN to tryout this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The co-owner personally came out to greet us, setting a friendly tone that carried throughout our visit.

Our waitress, Rachel, was incredibly nice and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met without being intrusive. Each staff member, including the host, contributed to a positive atmosphere that made us feel special and appreciated.

Now, let’s talk about the food! Every dish we tried was fantastic. The boudin balls were a delightful start, perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. The shrimp was succulent, and the Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender inside. But the highlight for me were the oysters; they were absolutely fresh and a must-try!

For our main courses, we ordered the crawfish étouffée, which was rich and comforting, and my husband chose the steak and potatoes, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a solid 10/10.

We truly appreciated the care and attention that the staff provided during our meal. They made us feel like valued guests, and it really enhanced our dining experience. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this gem! Thank you for the wonderful evening; we can’t wait to return!

My partner and I took my parents out as a thank for you throwing us an engagement party. We went on a Sunday evening, it wasn’t busy but we did have a reservation.

We shared the meatballs which were highly recommending on Google reviews. They were delicious, the cheese curds in the sauce are an amazing touch. It wasn’t over the top but well seasoned, lots of sauce and great to share.

We had the beef stroganoff, meatloaf, pork chop and hanger steak. They were all delicious, well dressed and decadent. The stroganoff had soft noodles and tender beef. The meatloaf had delicious potatoes and would make a fabulous leftover lunch. The pork chop was enormous. It was well cooked, tender, flavorful and the collard greens were a great addition and cut some of the richness. The hanger steak might have been my favorite. The onions and mushrooms were perfect and I hate mushrooms. The potatoes were incredible and the sauce what rich, savory and delicious on everything.

We had wine, one cocktail and a beer across the table. Everything was great, no notes.

The service was comfortable, engaging and professional. It was spacious, clean, high quality and fun. Very aesthetic.

I think the only surprising thing was the pricing. It was delicious and well worth it but I suppose it was still a little surprising. This is mostly a me problem, but it’s a luxury dinner and phenomenal food!

Finally, after a few years of walking by Mr. Paul’s many times, I have experienced this modern supper club. I enjoyed all of it: the warm atmosphere, the tasty but not too-complex fare, and mostly, the friendly staff. Owner Courtney was a delight and took time to visit with us and hostess Melanie was overly accommodating with our reservation. My halibut entree was delicious with its perfectly glazed crust and was portioned rightly. If you are a fan of French fries like my friend, you’ll be very pleased, especially with the rich Bernaise sauce. This is a great place to dine, especially in the cooler months in Minnesota.

We had an extremely underwhelming experience at Mr. Paul’s, which was so disappointing given the number of great reviews. The only parts of the evening that I enjoyed (besides the company), was the side of brussel sprouts and Walter who is apart of the wait staff.

The atmosphere of the restaurant as a whole is really lovely, gorgeous even. However, we were seated in the very front of the restaurant, even before the bar, and the table was almost completely separated from the rest of the joint. It did not share the same vibes as the rest of the restaurant. We were by no other tables, right in front of the front door (which made it genuinely, uncomfortably, cold), and right next to a random storage room that had staff coming in and out at random times. Quite literally any other table would have made the experience much more comfortable.

The service was good when our waiter was around. However, service was extremely extremely slow, with the exception that each course came out relatively quickly after we ordered it. Ordering drinks and the food, however, was a painfully long wait. Our waiter was really charming and friendly.

The food ranged from bad to decent. Our party started with the meatballs and wings. The meatballs were actually good: soft texture, good flavor in the meat, and good flavor in the sauce and cheese. I didn’t try the wings, and nobody really opined on them, but nobody was fighting for the last one either.

For mains, we shared the gumbo, ravioli, the hanger steak, and the crab gnocchi. The crab gnocchi came out fridge temp. I’ve never sent a dish back in my life, but we did end up sending it back because it was that cold. The returned version was nice and hot, but it was nothing special. There was one measly piece of crab in the dish. It almost seemed like the crab was blended into the sauce, because the meat was certainly absent. For $41 dollars you’d expect, and should get, more. The flavor was good but really nothing special. The gnocchi was also overcooked and not pillowy. The ravioli was even less special, buttered noddles probably have more flavor. The gumbo was good flavor-wise, just needed a little more salt. The hanger steak was SOOO tough. We totally appreciate the difference between a filet mignon and a hanger, but it was tougher than a normal and there was no flavor in the steak, the potatoes, or the bernaise. The brussels were the star of the show. If I ever go back, I’d order just that for my main.

This review would be so incomplete if we did not give a shoutout to Walter. Walter truly made our night. His service was absolutely top-notch and he took care of us so well, even more so than our waiter. I hope everyone gets to meet Walter once in their life!

We were here for our first time to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. Food was beyond amazing and the service was impeccable. We were over the top happy with Rachel. If you haven’t been here yet you need too. This is our new favorite spot in the Twin Cities

I reserved a table for 16 people to celebrate my birthday last Sunday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to each of us. We ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees and dessert, everything was delicious. Our server, Lizet, was outstanding. She had the perfect recommendations when we couldn’t decide on something. It was a wonderful experience and my entire group felt the same: we will definitely go back. I highly recommend it.

If you’re expecting a Wisconsin supper club experience, turn back. Mr. Paul’s is down-to-earth sophistication, echoing New York or Los Angeles, but without the attitude.

My partner and I stopped in after some worthwhile shopping in downtown Edina. Mr. Paul’s is huge, with three bars and a patio. However, the design team ensured intimacy, and diners never feel they’re in a cavernous space. We grabbed two chairs at the first bar we saw, and settled in to be taken care of by the charming Dante. He might have the same name as Signore Alighieri, but this Dante has more to do with the heights, rather than the depths. Mr. Paul’s Dante is the consummate bartender, server, and spokesperson for Tommy Begnaud, the owner/chef of Mr. Paul’s. He also owns Mothership Pizza.

New Orleans-inspired, Mr. Paul’s menu has all your favorites. We stuck with the happy-hour bar menu since it was 5:00 PM on a Friday. By the way, the joint was jumpin, with tons of people enjoying themselves. Our hamburger and chicken sandwich were large and delicious. We added a few Pimms cocktails, and life was good. Both of us were in Heaven, thanks to Mr. Paul’s and Dante’s protagonist at the bar.

We will return to Mr. Paul’s Supper Club with reckless alacrity. It’s another great Minneapolis spot.
