Josefina is exceptional. As someone who actively seeks out good, authentic food, this is the place I’ve found myself returning to again and again since they opened. It’s genuinely hard to find a flaw — the vibe, food, and drinks are all above a 10/10. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the open kitchen concept is such a refreshing addition to Baltimore’s dining scene. It’s a whole vibe.

The menu feels thoughtful and unique. The oxtail dumplings are my favorite bite — it’s nearly impossible to order just one round. I also love the tomato tartar and the octopus carpaccio, and you truly can’t leave without ordering one of the paellas (the seafood is my favorite so far). I also just recently tried the burger which was perfect.

For dessert, do not skip the Basque cheesecake — it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. The Torrija is another standout — just all around amazing.

Chef David has created something truly special here, and it’s a beautiful addition to the city!

Absolutely an amazing experience and a must try! We ordered majority of the menu and were not disappointed.

When we first arrived the atmosphere was elegant and beautiful. We were promptly seated and the bartender gave us an overview of the menu and how the food will be coursed. We ordered mocktails that were absolutely delicious. From start to finish, the service was welcoming, knowledgeable and professional.

The food was amazing! The pan de tomate was one of my favorites. Even if some of the food is outside your comfort zone, it is still approachable and delicious, definitely go for it! The mushrooms, dumplings, tomato tartar, vegetable rice and octopus carpaccio were stand out dishes for us but everything was flavorful and gone quickly! Several gluten free and vegetarian options were available as well.

The attention to detail in the dishes, drinks, service and ambiance were impeccable. From the glassware, balsamic pearls, thorough recommendations to the bathrooms, everything was carefully thought out.

I can’t wait to return, thanks for an amazing birthday dinner!

Newly opened Josefina — what a wonderful start! Congratulations to the entire team for striving toward perfection. Overall, the food was delicious and the presentation impeccable. As with any new restaurant, a bit of training and service polishing will naturally come with time. Thank you for the warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere. I especially appreciated the generous birthday gesture — such a thoughtful touch! I will definitely be dining here often with friends.

Just went to Josefina for my birthday dinner and we loved everything we ordered. The tapas were much more generous than we expected, so we definitely over-ordered and even had leftovers the next day.

Standout tapas: the oxtail dumplings and the cod.
From the mains: pork ibérico and the octopus were incredible.

The paella could’ve used a bit more rice and was slightly burnt, but the whole chicken in it was delicious.
We’ll definitely be back!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the brand new Josefina in Harbor Point and I could not be more impressed. I am a longtime supporter of Chef David from his days as executive sous chef at the original Alma Cocina with the Canton Can Company through his move into the executive role and I am thrilled to follow him into this beautiful new space. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The paella was rich and deeply flavorful, the steak was perfectly cooked, and the oxtail dumplings were hands down my favorite bite of the night. Service was a true ten out of ten. It felt like there were two people available for every guest and the entire team was warm, attentive, and eager to make the experience great. They are just getting started and working through the small things that naturally come with a new opening but even in week one they are delivering at an incredibly high level. I have seen a few one star reviews floating around and based on what I experienced I can only assume those people came in bad faith or are intentionally tearing down a new business. Do not let that noise stop you from visiting. Go check them out, support a fantastic team, and give them the five stars they deserve. I cannot wait to return later this week.

Lives up to the hype. The highlights were the oxtail caviar dumplings and the torrija dessert, which was like French toast, bread pudding, and tres leches cake all had a baby. So good! My only gripe was the seafood rice didn’t have the crispy rice bottom in the pan that a paella should. Otherwise, everything was excellent! Look forward to returning and trying more.

We ended up at Josefina for an impromptu date night with no reservation and were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar, and honestly, it made the experience even better. Cristian, the bartender, was incredibly helpful throughout the night. He gave great recommendations, checked in at the perfect times, and made the whole experience feel seamless and welcoming.

The drinks were excellent (balanced, creative, and well-crafted), and the food absolutely delicious. Every dish was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared.

And whatever you do, don’t leave without getting the oxtail dumplings. They were easily the standout of the night.

Already looking forward to going back!

We were very excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately left disappointed by both the service and the food. The space itself is beautifully designed; however, there seems to be an issue with ventilation, as there was a significant amount of smoke in the air throughout our meal.

Our server was kind and attentive (probably the most positive thing of the night), promptly taking our drink and food orders. Unfortunately, this is where the issues began. We ordered the oxtail dumplings, papita bravas, fried cod, and shrimp as tapas, along with the seafood rice as our main entrée. The oxtail dumplings that arrived did not resemble the dish shown online, which we assumed may have been a quality control issue given how busy the restaurant was. The papita bravas and fried cod were good, but nothing particularly memorable.

Our shrimp tapas never arrived. We waited approximately an hour and a half before the table was set for the seafood rice. By the time it finally came out, we were exhausted and only managed a few bites before asking to have the rest packed to go.

The two tables next to us (who had been seated before we arrived) also appeared frustrated due to missing dishes, which suggested our issues were not isolated.

Overall, while the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff, there are clear areas that need improvement to deliver a better dining experience.

Recently went to Josefina and had a genuinely memorable dining experience. The space is beautiful and inviting, with a warmth and elegance that immediately stands out. The menu feels cohesive and intentional, with the seafood rice as the clear standout, and the oxtail dumplings close behind. The cocktail program was excellent, particularly Fuerza y Fe and Melón Dorado. Dessert was a strong finish, with an exceptional torrija and a rich royal rice pudding. We could see the Txuletón being prepared in the open kitchen and it looked perfectly cooked. I’m already looking forward to returning soon to try it for myself. From ambiance to service, everything felt well considered.

We made reservations for their opening night and had high hopes, but unfortunately the experience felt overpriced for the amount of food served. Paying $20 for two small dumplings is quite unreasonable. While the dumplings were good, they weren’t worth the price. We also ordered the boquerones tapas, which were tasty, and my tomatillo cocktail was very enjoyable.

The desserts were just okay. The churros were extremely overpriced, and the portion size was almost laughable. The Basque cheesecake was tasty, but not the best I’ve had.

The service also needs improvement, though I’m hoping this is just opening-night growing pains. We were seated promptly, but it took a long time for our order to be taken and for anyone to check on us. There were only two servers covering the entire first floor, which likely contributed to the delays.

The space itself is beautifully decorated and the interior design is very nice; however, the bright lighting and loud music felt mismatched. I wasn’t quite sure what vibe they were going for, and the overall atmosphere felt a bit off.

Overall, I think this place still needs some work. I hope it does well, but based on our first visit, I’m not sure how it will fare in Baltimore City.
