We had a fantastic experience at The Cheese Room in Seattle. Even on a busy Saturday night, we were seated at the bar and taken great care of by Geoff. He was helpful, attentive, and had a great sense of humor—exactly the kind of service that elevates a meal.

We enjoyed a bottle of wine paired with their delicious complimentary focaccia. Their take on lasagna was unique: light on the sauce but rich, meaty, and incredibly cheesy, exactly what you’d expect from a place called The Cheese Room, and we loved it. Our pasta with mushrooms, prosciutto, and truffle oil was equally excellent. We were so full by the end that we couldn’t even squeeze in dessert.

Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable evening, and the perfect way to kick off our trip to Seattle. Highly recommend!

Very lovely night. Food, ambience, and staff were all great.
The basque cheesecake was excellent. The meatballs are recommended as well.
The menu is creative and all executed well, and portions and price were pretty reasonable. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. It’s great that they have a cheap bottle of wine option too.

The staff were all more than friendly to us.
It’s a great place to go with friends or on a date.

This place is a super cute Italian restaurant with great food. My boyfriend and I went for happy hour and while the food was amazing I felt the portion sizes were small despite the prices. The drinks here are all great! The tiramisu was good, but I felt as if it was extremely cream heavy and lacked a lot of the cake portion.

Wow. What a delicious meal we had here! This is a lovely restaurant with a nice and cozy atmosphere, where everything in the menu has cheese. There are lots of vegetarian options, and the grilled cheese with tomato soup is incredible. We got that and the lasagna, which was also really good. The cheeses of course were very tasty. Can’t wait to come back!

The hype is fully justified on this one! I ordered the five cheese plate. I only knew I wanted the aged gouda and let my server pick the other four. All five were outstanding, as was the spiced fig jam. The focaccia bread was incredible, but so filling I couldn’t finish my cheeses, so I boxed them up for my hotel fridge.

To the staff’s credit, I was one of the only customers right when they opened, and they were working overtime filling my water! I had been walking around town for hours and was worried about getting kidney stones from the cheese overload. I cannot say enough kind words about both the staff and the food! I came to Seattle to knock things off my bucket list, but they really made me want to go back, so I probably will. I really loved the view from the dining room. Seattle at its finest.

Cheese is the highlight of the restaurant here! But like many of the others, I thought the pasta was good but not great. They can be a bit heavy and the flavor really depends on your preference. The pasta portion is not the biggest and most filling. My favorite is actually the grilled cheese. The tomato bisque is really tart and delicious & you can actually just order it as a side without ordering the grilled cheese. Bonus: free complimentary bread!

We had the Mimolette Jeune salad, Grana Padano black truffle & prosciutto pasta, and the lasagna. All three items were incredible, and they offer fresh bread and olive oil when you are seated.

Honestly, I didn’t think I would enjoy this place since I didn’t like cheese… but…
1. Best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had! made with ricotta
(which I’ve never had), it’s so light & fluffy I forgot I was eating cheese! came with tomato soup and that pairing was seriously, you gotta try.
2. Camembert lobster bisque ravioli was so yummy! I’ve never heard of camembert cheese, but whatever they did with it was
3. the Basque cheesecake… also have never heard of this, but if you’re looking for a cheesecake that feels “healthy”? (lol) this is it! it was so light & creamy but not overwhelming in flavor, I probably could’ve eaten the whole cheesecake myself.
4. ok, tiramisu, apparently up until now I’ve never had “real” tiramisu? I didn’t know! I’ve only ever had American tiramisu? haha. but if you’re looking for tiramisu with strong rum & coffee flavor, come try theirs.
5. strong margarita

overall- I will definitely go back

I had higher hopes for this spot. The service was pretty rough and negligent, only because it seems the restaurant is understaffed. The food was honestly underwhelming. It was just OK, not good or great. I would still come back and try to give it one more shot.

The truffle capanelle hardly had any mushrooms, nor a truffle taste, was somewhat bland and served painfully hot. It burned my tongue. I honestly would come back and try a different pasta. I got the pistachio salad and found that it was way too heavily, dressed and difficult to eat.

One bartender is preparing drinks, serving tables in the bar area, seating people in the restaurant, and also having to serve as host to greet people. It’s no wonder it took quite a bit of time for him to realize I finished eating and was waiting for the check with my coat on.

Most guests arrived and had to wait 5 to 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledge their presence. Even when the peak restaurant rush, simmer down, there was still a very long wait for the guests. Either the restaurant should hire an actual host or a second bartender. It seemed there was only one server on the main dining side of the restaurant too.

As I arrived, one party of four returned 20 minutes after they had checked in and to be told to wait 20 minutes. Only for them to be informed that their table was given to someone else because they weren’t there on time. It seems that there’s not a good reservation we process.

If you and your party are 21 and over, then you can be seated in the bar area. As everyone was told to wait, they were asked if they were over 21 as it would have shortened the weight substantially. But honestly, the service in the bar area was not worth it.

Wow, what an incredible restaurant! Every menu item revolves around cheese. I came here with a friend, and for us it was an easy, fast walk from the convention center. We sat with a nice view of the street. The restaurant has a cozy vibe. Service was fantastic. We were checked on often and it didn’t take long for our food to come out.

I had the lobster bisque ravioli, and in all truth, this is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. It had such depth and nuance, and the freshness of the corn and dill were amazing. I had a local cider from Yonder with it. My friend loved his food, too. We both ate every bite. I raved about this place to other friends at the convention, and they made plans to go, too.
