After dinner, we decided to grab dessert in Charleston and upon searching found Kaminsky’s Dessert Cafe. Parking was outside on the street, and when we walked in, it was busy with people ordering takeout and enjoying their desert.

We checked out the place, and found a table, and soon our server, Grace, came over. We ordered the A La Mode and milkshake.

We enjoyed the desert. It was delicious, well-made, and melted in our mouths. It was absolutely amazing. We also loved the milkshakes. They were some of the best we’ve had.The chocolate milkshakes was incredible.

Kaminsky’s is definitely a great place to go in Charleston to try their delicious desserts.

Party of 4 walked in to escape a little rain and to grab refreshments. Skyler was our server and she was on point! Her attitude was upbeat and her recommendations were no different. I had one of the old fashioned cocktails and it was great and had a little spin on it. I would definitely recommend this drink if you visit. My partner and my sister both ordered espresso martinis that were really good and Skyler recommended another martini which I believe was a mocha-tini and it was fantastic and she recommended the curious George to my partner which she also really enjoyed. My nephew got a chocolate kids shake with Oreo and he absolutely killed it in no time. We also got a slice of the red velvet cake to share and I tried the gluten free chocolate cake and they were both SO good! Not too rich- not overly sweet and the perfect moistness.
I often recommend Kaminskys to people and will continue to do so.

Got the triple chocolate cake and the Kaminsky old fashioned.

The drink was good! Different but tasty. Not too sweet. Gotta like orange and chocolate favor

Triple chocolate cake: 2 stars, very weak chocolate flavor.

Wont be back

This was a unique find. I can’t imagine there being a better dessert place in the city. Our server, Sonny, was simply amazing and had great suggestions and a charming smile. There is a sign hanging up that says that the USA Today newspaper says it’s the best milkshake in South Carolina and we think we might agree. It was an incredible chocolate milkshake. We also got the mixed berry cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which just melted in your mouth. We weren’t even hungry when we came in and we finished both. The atmosphere has got a bar-like feel with very cool vibes but it’s all desserts. This is a unique place right next door to the market that you need to check out.

5 stars for 5 reasons

1. The dessert I bought was exceptional! I typically don’t like coconut but this one was very good! Good crust, good taste, and not too sweet. Give the coconut cream pie a try.

2. Nice folks that work here:)

3. Relatively cheap for a good size pie

4. Many variety of desserts!

5. The decor and ambiance is pretty chill.

Kaminskys was the first dessert restaurant I went to in Charleston. I talked it up so much! How cute, intimate & nice the staff were. I talked about it to my coworkers and friends but they all mentioned how there were better places in the area. A few months ago, I brought my young brother and mother on a Friday night and it was understandably busy!

I ordered an espresso martini and asked if they could put Baileys in it, to which the young server (I won’t name drop) said “We already put Kahloua in it” (not the same as Baileys) but I still said “Oh, okay!” and drank it the way I didn’t prefer it because I didn’t want to be a hassle on a busy Friday. My brother got a hot chocolate & my mother got a coffee. When the server came back to take our food order, my mother, not being from this city, asked what the server recommended and she replied verbatim “I’m not really sure. I don’t eat here because I’m skinny” I think she was trying to be funny? but my family and I had no idea how reply to that. Just kind of saying “Okay?” We ended up not ordering any dessert being that we were uncomfortable even though none of us are overweight & live an active lifestyle. So we just finished our drinks and left.

Recently, I had my sister and her fiancée come to town for date night and we wanted some dessert after dinner so naturally I recommend Kaminskys! The four of us got there an hour before closing and it was completely empty but I knew we were gonna be in and out of there. Immediately we felt like we were not welcomed but we brushed it off and sat at the bar. They were out of my first choice of dessert, then my second choice, and then my third and at that point I gave up. We all ordered an espresso martini but mine with Baileys and the bartender said the same thing as last time and I realized it was the same blonde girl that served me before, no problem. The rest of my group finished their drinks pretty quick and I said “oh man! I haven’t even touched mine” The young bartender chimed in and said “yeah you better finish that quick, we’re closing” it was latest 11:30. I’ve worked f&b for almost 10 years so I understand wanting to get out asap and I understand joking with guests, trust but that comment only made me and the rest of my group even more uncomfortable. So I quickly finished my drink & we left. I told my group that I’d never bring this place business again. Later my sister made it known to me that they felt rushed even before the blonde made that comment.

I used to love Kaminskys! I loved the vibe, the desserts & how small it is but it made a complete 180 in the past year. The past servers and bartenders before were so sweet and welcoming and always made it a good time no matter if it was busy or dead! I’m not one to write reviews at ALL but this place that I recommended so often ended up really disappointing me.

We came here for an afternoon coffee and pie and had a lovely time. We ordered a black coffee, a slice of bourbon pecan pie, and a slice of key lime pie. The coffee was good and the pie was great, but nothing too special. The key lime pie was rather tart but still tasted delicious. Definitely would come back to try the mixed berry cobbler since they didn’t have it today. Service was good and we had a great experience!

This place was packed on a Friday night but we were lucky to get a table. Small place but very cozy and cute. The customer service was great. Ordered drinks and a piece of red velvet cake. We got the cake but the drinks too awhile like after we ate the cake our drinks came out. But the drinks were good! I recommend the chocolate coconut martini! The cake slice was huge and for me it was on the dry side.
