It’s disappointing to write this review because the food itself is quite good. Unfortunately, the service completely undermines the experience.

I called to place a takeaway order and asked a simple, reasonable question about portion size for the spring rolls, as I wasn’t sure whether one order would be sufficient. The gentleman on the phone responded in an unnecessarily rude and hostile manner, speaking down to me instead of offering help.

This isn’t an isolated feeling—the staff consistently come across as irritated and unwelcoming, which makes it genuinely uncomfortable to support the business despite the quality of the food. Good food alone isn’t enough when customers are treated with such clear disrespect.

The worst dine-in experience ever! Incredibly rude and disrespectful service staff that acts bothered and disgruntled serving tables. Restaurant manager/owner doesn’t seem to care at all about the customer experience and also has staff vacuuming loudly around diners while they are still eating, and thinks that’s OK. The food was adequate but not nearly good enough to return. Maybe take-out

We’ve dined here several times and absolutely love it. The food is so good and my partner says it’s the best kung pao he’s had in the area. We enjoy the peanut noodles and other chicken dishes as well.

Normally, the food is excellent. However, we ordered the whole Peking Duck for $69, and all we received was a mix of a reheated shredded thigh and skin mixture. We couldn’t find any breast meat. See the picture. Having just returned from having had amazing Peking Duck in Singapore, this was a huge disappointment. There, and at Jiangnan in Boston, they bring the whole duck and carve it at your table. We do not believe we received a whole duck. When we complained, they said it was served differently. In the past, at this restaurant, the duck was served with large pieces of breast meat topped with crispy skin. But not this time. The skin and meat were fatty and salty.

Note, we were at the restaurant early at 4. One previous time, we arrived early and also did not seem to receive a whole duck. It seems like early arrivers get shredded duck from the previous day.

This said, everything else we had was excellent. My grandsons loved the teriyaki beef sticks, pot stickers, house fried rice, and the always superb jumbo shrimp in spicy Shanghai sauce.

If we have the duck here again, we will ask to have the whole duck brought to our table where we will carve it ourselves.

Crab Rangoon = not much filling inside…
Singapore Noodles = I barely taste the curry; it’s not even spicy like it’s supposed to be; it was very bland!
Shanghai House Fried Rice = not much meat included, mostly frozen mixed veges, and bland white rice. It’s not even slightly browned to look like actual fried rice! ‍♂️
Boneless spare ribs = the only “decent” item in my entire order even though it was cold

EDIT: the manager asked if they could remake the dishes for me. I told them I’d like to try the Singapore noodles and Fried Rice… the noodles were better, still not spicy, but actually tastes like curry now. The fried rice was still kind of bland. I guess I’ll just put salt and pepper when I eat it.

Overall, I don’t think this is the place for me… I travel all over the US and I always order these items particularly, because they are very simple dishes… I’m not telling you not to eat here, definitely feel free to try for yourself. Maybe you’d appreciate the lack of seasoning and taste… some people prefer bland food ‍♂️
*I added a photo of the Singapore noodles… try to guess which one was the bland batch and which was the remake…

Great food, fast service. The waiter was very professional, the food was made in a timely fashion and oh so delicious. Walked in with lower expectations, just looking for a quick meal. Deff adding to the permanent recomended lunch spots in this area. Will deff come back!

Originally found this place when it was mentioned in Boston magazine as a spot a famous chef liked to go on their night off. It’s outstanding. To start with the food, you can have very tasty, fresh stir fries or get adventurous with weekend dim sum. Great soups and appetizers – our favorite is Vegetarian Goose, actually tofu skin and mushrooms. They have a liquor license and a neat little bar area, though it’s not a drinking scene.

The dining room is pretty and neatly kept, and tablecloths come out for the dinner service. The nice wait staff has been in place for years. Dishes are served promptly, always hot and fresh. They have a vigorous take out business but it doesn’t interfere with table service at all. The photo shows Give Spice Beef Noodle Soup, which seemed a good idea for lunch on a cold and drizzly Saturday.

This is what you get for a $32 whole fish from this restaurant. Basically no meat (you will get a huge dish head instead ) and it taste awful. I’m Chinese and this is definitely not a authentic Chinese restaurant. If you don’t want to be ripped off and want to try authentic Chinese, please avoid this restaurant.

I’ve been a loyal customer at CK, but the waitress there was extremely disrespectful. She falsely accused of not tipping her, and she even told my friend in Chinese that I was cheap. I genuinely felt that this action was racially motivated, and am extremely disappointed that a restaurant with such great food has such horrible service.

We had my son’s birthday family luncheon here, and it was phenomenal. Perry was responsive by email and very flexible about changes we needed to make in the last moment. We pre-ordered by emailing a list of what we wanted, including several gluten free dishes, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. And to find gluten free Chinese food!? AMAZING! Everything was delicious and it’s clear they do GF right because those of us who are GF for various reasons all felt wonderful / had no reaction, immediate or delayed. Will be frequenting this restaurant for sure!
