This place doesn’t actually serve breakfast, despite the giant sign outside. We walked in and asked about the breakfast (the place looks really cool with lots of overstuffed sofas and a marsh-facing porch). The young woman behind the counter looked at us vacantly for thirty seconds and asked if we wanted her to make us coffee. We left. I’ll try again in the evening, I guess. Looks promising, but it’s definitely not a breakfast spot.

If you are a regular cigar smoker, this place is ok because the view is great and they have drinks. No smoking inside, likely because they serve food, and their humidor is three cabinets next to each other which the bartender has the key for. Not a cigar lounge but ok if you want a cigar at a bar without thinking you may intrude on someone enjoying the outdoor area.
Its a small bar area so there are just two hipster bartenders so if its justly they are stressed and short. They will hand you a cutter ($2 v-cutter) and a torch to service the cigar you purchase. The humidor needs to be checked as my Hemmingway Short Story burned wonky throughout the stick and was a much drier taste than I remember.

An Absolute Gem on Saint Simons Island!

If you’re looking for a top-notch spot to relax and indulge in the finer things, this craft beer and cigar haven on Saint Simons Island is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between upscale and laid-back charm.

The craft beer selection is truly exceptional—carefully curated to feature unique brews that cater to every palate, from hopheads to stout enthusiasts. The knowledgeable staff is always ready to guide you through their offerings, ensuring you find the perfect pour every time. And let’s talk cigars—this place is a cigar lover’s dream. Their humidor is packed with premium selections that pair beautifully with the beers on tap.

But what really takes this spot to the next level is the massive deck. Overlooking the serene marsh, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a cold craft beer in hand and the rich aroma of a fine cigar in the air. Whether you’re catching up with friends, enjoying a date night, or just soaking in the stunning views, the vibe here is unmatched.

This place is more than just a beer bar—it’s an experience. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike. Five stars isn’t enough to do it justice!

Visited last month, this is NOT a cigar bar, and far from it. The inside has a small section that looks like a cigar lounge to sit and relax, which is next to the bar, but no smoking is allowed indoors, and yet this place has roll up style doors, or basically qn open air concept from inside to out, but you still can’t smoke inside. A small humidor with a small selection of cigars it is, they are just pretending to be a cigar lounge. Service: service was absolutely horrible. I was confused at first, all but two people behind the bar were back there drinking. Those drinking also served me and took my card to start my tab. Turns out if you are wearing an apron, which only two people of did, that means they work there and I guess cant drink, and are supposed be in charge, but this place allows staff who isn’t working behind the bar, who are drinking and serving people. This place should be reported to the authorities for that. Reason I learned was later while smoking outside I asked one person who worked there for another drink only to have him complain about it and tell me it isn’t his night to work. He came back with another drink for me a few minutes later and apologized saying he felt bad for how he acted but they are off and drinking. This was the same person who also served me earlier and handled my transaction. If you aren’t working, you should not be behind the bar drinking and serving and dealing with transactions. Food: small basic appetizer selection, all sucked. Cheese spread and boxed crackers from the grocery store. If you want a pizza, gotta wait an hour because they hand make one at a time and put in a toaster over at the bar. The owner, who I assume is the owner or manager, who is all over social media videos for the place,, he was there witnessing everything and obviously doesnt care. He seemed to be more interested in flirting with anyone female and made of money. Music sucked but I can’t fault them for that, thats the fault of the live band that happened to be there that night promoting his own CDs, music, etc. Atmosphere sucked; again you think its a coagr bar but children are running around yelling and screaming. Went back to work, and I told everyone about this place and told them not to come here. One of my coworkers said he knows the people who run it and that its a place for the owners to hang out amongst themselves and they dont care about the people or service. Needless to say this was the first and last time I’ll ever come here. Its sad to say there isn’t a single positive thing I can say about the place or the people. This is not a cigar bar, not even close.

Walked into this place with low expectations since we don’t smoke cigars. Pleasantly surprised that all the smoking is on the deck. GREAT selection of beers and ciders! Such a friendly neighborly place. The fig and pig flatbread blew my mind! Great place to watch games with friends on the deck with stunning views of the marsh.

What a surprising find at the back of Redfern Village on Saint Simons Island. The approach to and facade of Uptown Tap and Cigar is unassuming and gives no hint of the experience inside. As you enter, you are immediately greeted by a cozy interior with lots of spots to sit including grabbing a seat at the bar (my favorite place to sit) The beer menu is constantly evolving and they do a great job of ensuring that each beer on tap is both tasty and unusual. (The worst beer I’ve ever had there is a 7+). Whenever I visit, I’m introduced to new breweries and beer styles. Nate, the bartender, is a beer savant and if you describe what you like (or don’t like), he will find you the perfect pour for your taste. On a nice weathe day, take your beer outside to the large patio and enjoy one of the best marsh views on the island. The clientele is largely friendly locals who are always willing to share their thoughts on favorite nearby spots to eat, enjoy live music or explore.

Since you have read this far, I’ll assume you love beer and good company. If so, Uptown is a must-do when visiting Saint Simons.

The best experience in the area, we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon on the deck (perfect weather) with a great cigar selected from many in their onsite humidor (expertly cut and readied for smoking) along with one of a few dozen beers from their menu (which we heard changes). No food at this time of the season but a menu as well as early morning coffee will be starting in April. We loved it!

My husband and I stood at the bar on a Saturday at 1:30 waiting to be served for about 10 minutes. We assumed the bartender was busy, making other drinks. However, he popped from around the corner, eating his food and refused to serve us still. We walked out.
