Bear’s was a very pleasant surprise! I drove by it many times and wish that I had tried it much sooner. You can’t help but notice the giant stuffed bears placed outside the restaurant. While “shack” does describe the small inside of the restaurant, there is plenty of outside seating. The breakfast burrito was fresh, well made and very tasty. The peanut butter smoothie complemented the meal and tasted great. Bear’s food, staff, and overall cool vibe is definitely something you want to experience. I am looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

The breakfast burritos were so good! I had the Huevos Rancheros burrito, so delicious! I honestly had a hard time choosing what to get, but I’m glad I went with this. My fiancee had a bowl, which she enjoyed. The service was quality and I’m looking forward to going back and trying more.

4/21/2022 Update: I came for lunch and it was awesome as well.

Their kale chicken salad is the best around! You also can’t beat their smoothies and açaí bowls. To die for! And the ambiance is super relaxed with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. And their prices are so reasonable for the quality you get! 10/10 recommend! Staff is super super friendly too!

I like the idea of this place, a healthy surf-shack style eatery with a cool outdoor seating vibe. The food and smoothies are great and there’s tons of options to choose from. I ordered tacos and couldn’t believe how good they were. However, I’m really confused about the name “Bears” and the fascination with giant teddy bears planted everywhere. Not sure what that has to do with a tropical themed restaurant. This place could be great if they fixed a few things. Food took 20 minutes to come out as they were understaffed. The free water cups are a complete joke, they are the size of a 2oz bathroom mouth wash cup. I’m not sure if they were trying to shame customers into buying bottled water or they ran out of regular cups, but either way it comes off as stingy/cheap. Overall fantastic food and a very friendly staff in a cool beachy atmosphere.

If Trader Joe’s ever opened a restaurant this would be it! Chill beach vibes, great parking (as opposed to the main restaurant strip of Atlantic Avenue near Pineapple Grove). Coffee was meh, but they do get points for having organic agave and almond milk as options on the self serve counter. Terri-Sun Bowl was packed with meat and veggies and topped with jammy eggs- but it was a tad too salty and drowned out the other flavors, like sesame oil. Kona bowl was delicious and worth the money, although it wouldn’t hurt to get a few more shrimps. Staff was decent but not the friendliest- basically were rushing us through the order and any questions about the menu felt like we were bothering them. The table was sticky – not sure if that was just a one off but cleanliness could be improved. It’s portrayed as a healthy place, so it might be nice to have nutritional facts readily available. All in all, I would recommend this place.

Fun, energetic and young atmosphere makes Bear’s Food Shack a good stop on the way to the beach or as a destination in itself. I enjoyed the atmosphere and sitting in a plastic adirondack chair facing atlantic avenue. I had the cheese, potatoes wrap, some nutella bagel and a coconut cookie. All were very good. The cookies were the stand-out. I will be back for the easy location and atmosphere. The staff was well trained and fun. On my second trip, I tried an acai bowl that was just perfect.

Bear’s Food Shack is owned by a man who goes by the name of Bear who also owns 22 other restaurants in Washington, D.C. and Hawaii. You can find the small restaurant on Atlantic Ave just outside of the downtown area. They are on the I-95 side of Swinton Avenue. They opened in 2017 to bring healthy dining to Delray in the form of smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches, wraps, coffee bagels, and other items.

I passed this place so many times on my way to downtown Delray Beach. You can always tell when they are open because they put out large stuffed teddy bears. I was in the area during lunch time and decided to finally check them out.

I love the Hawaiian beach shack vibe of Bear’s. Outside is a tiki, surf board table, and the stuffed bears. Inside is cramped with a few tables and an ordering counter. The tables were crafted from Tahitian fishing boat painted the ancestral colors of the village, and hanging from the ceiling are several antique hand blown glass fishing buoys. In the rafters is a surfboard from Hawaii. They have a couple of more tables outside.

They opened on the concept of offering healthy food at reasonable prices. My how prices have skyrocketed since when they first opened. Sandwiches were once offered at a reasonable $10. The Bear Club I ordered with roasted turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, swiss, tomato, and spring mix was $13.99. Then they added a $1 surcharge! By the time I added tax and tip my sandwich was $18. I considered a smoothie but they were in the $9 range. I ended pairing my lunch with a bottle of water I had with me. After I ordered I was crammed into a corner to wait for my food while people bumped and jostled into me. It was very unpleasant.

If the sandwich had been out of the world delicious it might have justified the high price but the bread was dry and the sandwich had no flavor beyond the overwhelming salt of the meat. They did give me a small free cookie for checking on Facebook and if I had checked into Yelp in time I could have gotten 15 percent off. Bottom line, it is a cute place but it is a one and done for me.

Love the vibe and festive design, those cute bears by the entrance! Also, the place has its own parking lot. I ordered cappuccino and waited for 10 min, after that had to remind about my order. Coffee was absolutely cold with splash of almond milk , no foam, the machine was broken.

Cool spot with nice interior! Team is very friendly! Food is nice, we had breakfast and enjoyed it quite a bit! Menu selection is quite broad, so anybody can find something tasty to try. It is good for breakfast and lunch. However, why not come there for dinner and some beer?
