The food was delicious. My friend was familiar with the menu. This is her favorite place and our dinner was my gift to her.
I thought the service was excellent and every one was so nice and accommodating.
Great outing all the way around. I will be returning.

So first and foremost the issue with this place is not the food, it could’ve been a bit warmer but for the most part the flavors were nice. The biggest issue I have is the pricing to portion ratios. For $20.00 I expect a big plate of whatever food I order. Pasta is not very expensive and traditionally Italian restaurant are infamously known for large portions. I expect to leave the restaurant with either a desire to take a long nap or left overs for that late midnight snack.

Josie’s used to be the go to place for Italian food. For years we would celebrate our anniversary there. Last night we decided to take friends there to experience the great food. Well, it turned out anything but great. Food was not hot, chicken was dry, and order forgotten even after the waiter asking twice what our friend ordered.

Always my favorite place to go. I get rigatoni, meat sauce, add mushrooms. The bread it is served with is so soft – great for dipping in your red sauce. Salad I get Italian dressing then ask for anti pasta – goes amazing together! I mix the two then sprinkle a few onion rings (some of the best) on top.

Authentic Italian in Southeast Kansas….Who would have thought? Always quality even though you may have to wait for a table.
THIS IS AN UPDATE 4+ YEARS LATER…. totally disappointed! Told friends how great it was and 6 of us went there tonight. They were famous for the fried ravioli. Tonight it was served luke warm (at best) and so tough it was hard to eat. It was like it was cooked earlier and microwaved. Absolutely terrible. The sauce was still good. The service was beyond bad to the point that we got up so the server could turn the table and he said he really didn’t want another table to be seated. 1 person said that the chicken parmesan was good. Even my wife’s fried shrimp was overcooked and tough. What a waste of $50.

Best lasagna I’ve ever had. I decided to make it my last gluten filled meal as I was diagnosed with Celiac. I tried to call and see if they would make a lasagna with gluten free noodles special ordered for my birthday. They would not and acted pretty offended and upset that I asked. So that really sucked. But I did really love everything I had and the atmosphere too. I had lasagna with meat sauce and a piece of Italian creme cake. I’ll probably never go there again unfortunately. ☹️

I’ve heard for years how great Josie’s is but hadn’t tried it until tonight. The service was stellar sans the food was amazing! Someone in our party has a gluten allergy and had to ask lots of questions about how drinks and food were prepared and our server was so accommodating and helpful. I can’t wait to come back again!

Very large crowd waiting when we got there, but we had no wait as we called with reservations earlier in the day. Service was okay, could have checked on table a bit more. We waited for our food for an hour or more. Was extremely long time with young kids. The server did apologize for the wait, that was noted. For the amount of business I’m surprised they dont have more than 1 restroom each, we had to wait each time needing to use facilities. Once we FINALLY received meals, all pastas, it was delicious and just nearly worth the wait. Their sauce is devine! Antipasto is superb, and many drink choices from bar.

Amazing authentic Italian food out in the middle of nowhere. The buildings atmosphere inside is nothing special but the food and service are consistently good. It is on the pricier side of regional dining and no credit or debit cards are accepted. There is an ATM inside. Be sure to request the complimentary antipasta with your salad.

I probably won’t be eating here again. The staff was okay, but I was upset about the food. I decided to try a steak this time and seeing how it was almost $30 I figured it would be good. After I ordered I seen a sign on the wall saying that there was an upcharge for beef then I get my steak and it definitely was not good. I paid $33 for a steak that my dog wouldn’t have even eaten
