I’m surprised more people don’t crowd into this very nice Italian wine bar and wine shop, because it’s a great place to have a glass, sit, socialize, and enjoy the atmosphere. The distinguishing thing about this wine bar is that they’ve actually chosen high quality wines from Italy (most of the staff are in fact Italian), unlike many other wine places around here that are just sourcing whatever surplus/cheap bottles are on offer from the wholesalers. And the wines (for takeaway, since it’s a wine store also) are not hugely marked up in price either. There’s a 2nd floor private space that can be rented too, for credit that can be spent on the wine. Cafe also next door. The staff here are very friendly and helpful — I hope the business will do great!

We stumbled into this amazing Italian wine bar. The interior is really pretty and relaxing. You can also sit outside if you’d like
The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. You can also get some things to eat while drinking wine as well. We tried a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, which was really delicious, and we ended up buying a bottle. I’d suggest trying this place if you’re in the vicinity, and you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing experience with the sommelier. It was a quiet night and we talked a lot about Italian wine. The sommelier (an Italian) was very passionate about what they had to offer but without being boring and academic. I tried 3 different wines/varietals and all were great recommendations. Definitely recommend this place if you want some great Italian wines in a ’boutique’ environment

Had the best wine tasting experience this evening. Walked into a cute and intimate environment, only to find out they were having a tasting that evening with one of their importers/distributors. Even though the event already started, they were very accommodating and made sure we got to taste the entire lineup of 15 wines. Very knowledgeable and engaging staff, and very fair wine pricing – we really stumbled upon a gem and look forward to a return visit.

Nice ambience, but quiet.
We bought a bottle of wine from their stock. When we finally paid I was surprised to find a “corkage fee” added to the charge. Adding a “corkage fee” to a bottle of wine that we bought right there (ie from their own stock), without telling us in advance when we ordered the bottle, is an example of deceptive marketing. I hope to never again buy another bottle of wine or glass of wine here again.

This is what enjoying wine should be like. Friendly service, complimentary snacks, and fairly priced. Feels like being in Europe. Will definitely be back again.

Denied entry solely because staff demanded a “service dog certificate.” This requirement does not exist under the ADA or California law. Businesses may ask only whether the dog is required due to a disability and what task it performs. No paperwork may be demanded. The staff appeared confident and snobbish and did not respond to my request to show me a law requiring a certificate.

Venetia has expanded its business with the Wine bar! The atmosphere is excellent—fully Italian! This marks the beginning of the Italian empire, and we love feeling Italian in the Bay Area. Viva l’Italia! Viva Venetia! 😉
