How have I been inside this shopping center a million times and NEVER noticed this place?! Asia Café is the definition of a true hole-in-the-wall treasure — the kind of place you wander into on a random day with your husband and then immediately regret not discovering sooner.
We ordered Beef Chow Foon, shrimp Egg Foo Youn, and the Spicy fish from their authentic menu. The owner surprised us with complimentary hot & sour soup (SO good) and the freshest tea I’ve ever tasted — clean, smooth, not bitter, basically life-changing.
Everything that hit the table was fresh, flavorful, balanced, not oily, not overly spicy… just right. So good I even ordered Chinese donuts to-go because my emotional attachment developed very quickly.
Now here’s the miracle:
Every American-style Chinese place I’ve eaten at over the years has sent my stomach straight into panic mode. Like—eat, smile, pretend everything is fine, then sprint to the bathroom. But Asia Café?? ZERO issues. NONE. My stomach was calm, happy, and practically clapping. I even took leftovers home like a proud parent.
And the owner… honestly, she made the visit even better. Sweet, friendly, fast, and so real. We chatted with her, and she explained her whole philosophy in the most iconic line ever:
“We make everything fresh. It’s more work every day… but we are NOT lazy!”
I LOVE HER.
That told me everything I needed to know about why the food tastes the way it does.
She even offered to refill my rice for free AND gave us the soup for free. You just don’t see service or heart like that anymore.
Asia Café, I am officially obsessed. I’m coming back. I’m bringing friends. I’m bringing family. I might even bring random strangers. This place is that good.
If you haven’t tried it yet — GO. Do not wait another five years like I did.

Very good Chinese food! I enjoyed more than anything else here in Germantown MD. Excellent Shrimp dishes. The curry touch to Shrimp Pineapple Fried rice was different but quite delicious. I loved the crispy eggplant in spicy garlic sauce! Everything was flavorful and fresh!!

Went in to get food. Wanted to sit down and eat. Lady made me pay before we even sat down terrible manners. Price was a lot for the 3 things I got. Food came out quick but was cold small portions on paper plates. Lady went to go hide on the back on her phone didn’t ask us anything else didn’t even bring water. Had a few bites then me and my girlfriend decided we didn’t want any more. Went to ask for a refund and the lady immediately started going off. Didn’t want to give us our refund accused me of not giving a tip when she made me pay before. I had cash tip ready for good service. She said never come back. All 5 star reviews are probably from the owner trying to stay in business.

My son just discovered this gem and took me there a few days later. The food was superb, the service great and the owner even recognized my son from his previous visits and spoke to us about their move from a shopping center just down the road. The tea was lovely, the spicy beef with pickled peppers was spicy and delicious. No heavy sauce or breading but four types of peppers created a wonderful flavor combo. The eggplant with black bean sauce was very flavorful and the hunan squid had a delicious sauce. Far superior food to any of the Chinese restaurants where I live in Virginia. I will have to visit my son again so we can eat here again. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommended.

We went to this place for dinner. We ordered Salt and pepper fish fillet, Boiled beef, and Tangerine Peel Chicken. We paid almost $20 for each dish. The dishes we ordered were tiny – almost like samples. What is disgusting is there is hidden extra charge in the final bill. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!

Passing through Germantown I decided to look for an old established Chinese food restaurant. Food is a little expensive but OH MY GOD!! Super tasty! I’ve been telling all of my friends how good the crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken is. The two go well together. My wife and I can’t wait for a chance to come back!

I ordered through DoorDash and called the store right after to give special instructions, because the last time I ordered, the fries came out hard. Mind you, this was my first time ever calling in. I simply asked if they could make the chicken extra crispy and the fries done but not hard.
Instead of helping, the manager told me, ‘You people call and complain about orders. If you want it a certain way, go to another store.’ I guess by ‘you people’ she means customers who call in with instructions. I calmly explained that I wasn’t complaining, I was just letting them know how I preferred my food.
She then started talking to someone in the background, went silent, and hung up on me. I won’t be patronizing this place anymore. If you like your food made a certain way, I would highly recommend not coming here, you may end up with your food tampered with as retaliation.

I never leave reviews for anything, but this place just sorta pushed me to my limit. If i could rate this place any lower than one star, i would. The customer service was really terrible, the server was very rude and quick to jump at me and my boyfriend’s throat when we voiced something was off about what we had ordered. Speaking of what we had ordered, the food was super bland, no flavor at all, and it even came out pretty cold. The server made us pay BEFORE even sitting down to eat (which was already shady), and when we wanted a refund after BARELY touching the food at all, she got very offended and tried to argue with us right there and then. They made us pay $38 for our food to be served on paper plates at that… like cmon. No effort was put into presentation, or making the customer feel comfortable. Wouldn’t even ask/offer you a glass of water. I wouldn’t trust the 5 star ratings on this reviews, they’re very most likely out there by the employees working here. Def don’t recommend, this place is so trash and they are for sure scamming ppl outta their money !!!!!
