I read all the reviews and hummed and hawed about whether to come or not. But…I did. The food was excellent. Paneer tikka and South Indian chilli lamb. Fresh, fragrant, tasty and very well spiced. IMHO the best of the Indian restaurants around here, but as good as I’ve had in many cities. The service was friendly, non invasive and responsive. If it stays like this then I will be back for sure. One star off for atmosphere, but it’s only Wednesday in February!

I have had meals from here on a few occasions recently and they just seem to get better. I have just tried the chicken Kathmandu(My picture doesn’t do it justice) with pilau rice and it was cooked to perfection and so tasty and a lovely surprise for a new dish to try. I would highly recommend ordering from Bayleaf you won’t be disappointed. My favourite from them has to be the chicken tikka tiger.

Ordered 3 appetizers: King Prawns were truly King sized, thickly marinated, onions, spicy, w/tail on. 5 star. Onion Bhaji was large, pancake-shaped (not a “ball”) thick & deep fried. Somosas also large. Not greasy. I ordered to go. Ate twice on it. They had several drivers doing brisk takeaway business.

My husband and I had this place marked as one to try during our trip to Inverness, and we’re so glad we did! Everything from the quietly comfortable atmosphere to the attentive service to the fantastic food was spot on. We took the leap of allowing our order to be guided by suggestions from the server, Khalid (hope I spelled it right!), who is also a chef himself and part owner. His pride in his work really shows, and we had zero regrets about ordering by way of his suggestions. It was some of the best Indian cuisine we’ve ever had, and an all-around great experience. He made suggestions for specific types of rice that matched up perfectly with our individual entrees. If you’re considering going here, do yourself a favor and go!

Visiting Inverness with my husband,we came by the Bayleaf as soon as we entered we were pleasantly welcomed by the owner of the restaurant.
We ordered the chicken kurma and chicken passanda holy moly the flavor of spices in both was truly something else and the portions were way big to.
Was definitely the best Indian food we have had so far, wish we lived closer as it would be our favorite restaurant.

We recently dined at the Bayleaf, Inverness and had the best Indian meal for as long as we can remember! The layers of flavour in my curry were noticeably superior to similar Indian meals we’ve sampled in the past.
The service received was attentive with genuine customer care and attention to detail.
I don’t think you will be disappointed if you choose the Bayleaf for an Indian meal in Inverness and I wish this business every success.

We searched all over Inverness for this special dish(Jain) and no one else could make it for us. This was the only place that prepared it, and it truly felt like eating homemade food. Absolutely delicious and made with so much care. Highly recommended!

We had dinner, and it was by far the best Indian food we ever had.
We mentioned, we have a low tolerance for spicy, and they hit the level perfekt.
Super service from staff and no problem being in a wheelchair.
