Amazing food and service! Have to try the ribs. Great selection of local beers and a nice drink menu.

We were super excited to try this place. Menu looked great, lots of local beer on tap, artisan pizzas! We walked in at 910 on a Saturday night (website says open til ten, front window says pizza til 11). They told us the kitchen was closed. Saw them turn away another group as well. Super disappointed. Be better next time guys.

Update: The prospect of local beer and smoked meat was too good to pass up. Went back during normal dinner hours on our next trip through town. Food was amazing. Great variety of local beer on tap. Kids loved the pizza and lemonade. Staff was super friendly. Much better experience this time.

Wonderful friendly staff and great food and drinks. My sandwich was a bbq brisket (Texas style) and it was perfectly executed, and my wife got pizza which she really liked. Good local brews, good everything. If that’s not enough… ok, here’s the deal. My wife and I had had a shall we say trying day, long drives, bad experiences at certain establishments along the way, a stressful drive at dusk through deer/antelope country, an even more stressful drive through an eastern WY rain squall, and we were torn and frayed by the time we hit Buffalo and worried we wouldn’t have anywhere to eat a good meal because of how long it took. Not only did the staff set us up with tequilas, stat, they provided wonderful conversation and through their efforts the stress and frustration of the day was lifted. It was pretty late (again: LONG DAY) and the patio was empty except for us, and dog friendly, so the staff got to meet our dogs and everybody had a great time! We will be back the next time we’re in Buffalo, and we will come back to Buffalo when we next go west. Beth, John, the wonderful bartender lady who I didn’t catch the name of – thank you so, so much. END OF NOVEL.

We were driving through on a cross country road trip. I realize that bbq in this side of the country is different from the east. However, different shouldn’t be downright awful. The whole reason we came to this restaurant is because of the organic meat. We loved that the owners live off the grid. My son and I both ordered pulled chicken sandwiches and Mac. My son never even took a bite of his sandwich because he tasted the meat first. The server never asked if there was a problem, just took his plate. He said there was something wrong with it. I ate some of mine and in the little I had, 3 bites had bones! My daughter who not picky at all didn’t like her brisket at all. I ended having gastric upset. $70 later, i would not return to this restaurant, and if you’re not from this area, I would never recommend going.

We ate at Up In Smoke last Friday. So glad we found this place! The brisket and chicken were perfectly smoked, the smoked gouda mac and cheese was yummy and the squash soup was perfect. We loved the confidence of putting only one kind of bbq sauce out. It is homemade and very good, no other sauce was needed! The staff was very welcoming and we will definitely stop here again when we are in Buffalo. Well done!

What a great reasonably priced meal! With Wyoming atmosphere. I had lamb ribs, cooked to perfection. And I asked for mint jelly, and a really big guy came out and said, We don’t eat lamb that way here. Well, I still would have enjoyed some mint jelly. Apparently, Buffalo was founded by Bask shepherds, and there is cultural thing with that. I just really found it all very delicious and interesting and I will love stopping here again. They also welcomed my dog and treated him very well, too.

Had a catered party at Up in Smoke. Meat is fantastic. Very tender, not gristly. Sauce has just the right amount of heat. The owners and staff are very friendly. Highly recommend trying this place!

This restaurant gets one star because the food was edible. My husband and I are not picky eaters. We jokingly call my husband a human garbage disposal because he will eat anything. However, even he did not enjoy this meal. As tourists to the town, we were looking for somewhere to eat out. We have always had success with local barbecue joints, so decided to try Up In Smoke. First glance at the menu- pricey! My husband ordered the brisket meal and I ordered the pulled pork half sandwich with Mac and cheese. We were both disappointed and unsatisfied. Our meals were VERY small. I mean, my half sandwich was smaller than a Hamburger bun. For the extra $2 for the Mac and cheese, I would have preferred Kraft. My husband’s brisket was Luke-warm and dry. His chips, all 12 of them, were comparable to Ruffles with oil drizzled on them. The coleslaw was not good. In addition, due to their credit card system, we had a pre-selected tip and were unable to get a printed receipt. This was a complete waste of $47 for a small amount of unsatisfactory food. Needless to say, we went to the store and bought additional food for dinner because we were both still hungry.

We asked if it’s able to share the Combo Plate and the waitress said yes… One spoon potatoe salad and a little bit cole slaw. The meat was dry. We expected more and were very disapointed for that price. Fortunately we could sit in the backyard, which was very nice.

Overpriced beer, and really awful food. 3 drinks (total, not each), two tiny plates of lettuce and a couple of small greasy sandwiches just set us back over $50. Not to mention they were out of the first two things we ordered. Get a sandwich at the gas station, it will be better and save you about $40.
