I placed my order and noticed the cook pulled out a pack of Conecuh sausage. I paid it no mind because I thought he was also preparing a
call in order. I took my seat and waited on my order as the cook instructed. Eight minutes later the cook stated my food was ready. In my mind I am like it takes up to 10-15 minutes to cook any sausage. It made me a little questionable. As he placed the smoked sausage on the bun. I saw that he was using Conecuh sausage. I advised him that is not a polish dog but smoke sausage. He then asked me what the difference is? I did not know if he was being sarcastic or serious . Me being who I am I broke it down to him. A polish dog is long and slim in size with a firm texture. Whereas a smoke sausage is reddish brown and with a long extension, so it must be cut into proper proportions.
When I say I was so offended and disappointed . I told the cook I was still going to pay because I was hungry. Next, when he totaled out my food it came to a whopping $48.66. I know you are saying I would have left that hot mess right there. Though, I wanted you to see the receipt and the food quality.
I took one bite out of the smoke sausage, and it was not cooked thoroughly. I wanted to turn my car around and give the man a piece of my mind, but I live an hour and thirty minutes away. The rain ️ was coming down hard and I just wanted to get home.
In conclusion, the authenticity and originality of the restaurant is lost. Also, if I wanted Conecuh sausage I could have gone to the store
and purchased it at the same price I paid for each of the smoke sausages. I did include how much a pack cost. Illustrating how they are overpricing items. I rate this restaurant as a (1) star ⭐️.
Ordered two conecuh sandwiches and a chili dog. All were good. The conecuh in particular was good quality and cooked well. Toppings were fairly standard, nothing particularly memorable.
I grabbed three sandwiches-a hamburger, a bacon, egg, and cheese, and a sausage, egg, and cheese-and all three were absolutely fantastic. This food hit the spot like nothing else!
This place hasn’t lost a step over the years-same quality, same charm. If you’re craving solid comfort food, go check out Sam’s; you won’t regret it.
Let’s start with the chili dog. First look it looked as if someone just piled wet dog food on top. Like an insanely amount of chili was on this thing. Not to mention it was bland so I basically took a bite into pure mush.
The burger it looked good but ended up being extremely bland and the only thing I tasted was the sauce they put on it.
I just couldn’t finish this. 2/5 from me. Go check this place out.
I’ll be sticking with Paul’s Hotdogs, Gus’s Hotdogs, and Tony’s Hotdogs from now on. Take Sam’s off that top 5 list and put Paul’s in that spot.
