Where to start?! Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Great table outside. The charcuterie board, hand made pasta of the day, the fried chicken and the desserts were all outstanding in both quality and taste. We came late in the evening and the cake of the day was sold out, but all the more reason to return.
Try anything in the menu and you’ll be delighted.

Awesome food and great service! Best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. The gnocchi was legit. I’ve been to italy 3 times, and this was just as good. The dessert was to die for!

Excellent restaurant! The menu is not extensive, but it is very good. We had the “fried chicken for two” and everything that came with it was the best versions of those things that I’ve had… did that make sense? It was served with shaved broccoli salad, sourdough bread, cauliflower for the daily veggie, and mashed potatoes. The service was excellent and not rushed. A reservation is recommended, but there are first-come, first-served tables as well as bar seating if you want to go that route. I’ll be stopping by again when I’m back in the area.

James beard nominations are a pretty big deal. In Idaho Amano has been nominated 5 times; yet in a little mountain town a few hours from Boise sits another two time nominee Stanley Supper Club. The NY Times even said it had some of the best fried chicken in America. So a few of my Boise foodie friends and I decided to head up to Stanley for the weekend (it’s a 3 hour drive from Boise so overnight is highly recommended plus it allows you to explore Stanley/Red Fish Lake too).
It’s a newer complex in Stanley; the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous and homey.
You’ll need a reservation; otherwise you most likely won’t get in (they do have a patio too).
The menu changes seasonally right now they are on their summer menu.
It’s a great place for sharing/trying lots of different menu items; we ended up ordering several things ourselves and sharing.
All of us were completely blown away by the food; every item was flavorful and memorable so delicious.
They had a great bottle selection; ended up grabbing a chilled red wine that we all loved.
To start snag their house made sourdough bread; it does come with the chicken for 2 dinner too. The sourdough bread is crunchy flavorful and topped with their house made butter with specs of salt you’ll savor every bite of their sourdough bread.
Next we had the salads some of our most favorite things of the evening both were standouts to us. The shaved broccoli salad (very unexpected-Thinly shaved broccoli and tossed with fried shallots, tomatoes, pickled chilies, basil, and candied peanuts)and then strawberry fig salad (my personal favorite; Balsamic macerated strawberries and figs tossed with mixed greens, mint, fresh mozzarella, and black pepper vinaigrette).
Then it was on to the main dishes; the fried chicken for “2” honestly could feed 2-4 people it’s a lot of food (includes a half of loaf of bread, a salad, vegetable of the day, whipped mashed potatoes). The fried chicken comes with 3 dipping sauces housemade ranch (my favorite), hot honey, and a pineapple haberno sauce). The fried chicken was crispy and juicy/moist so much flavor (no dried out/over cooked greasy fried chicken here). The other dish we ordered was the star of the night in my book was the pierogi with mustard greens/kielbasa (Potato filled dumplings served with fermented mustard greens, sour cream, cilantro, and scallions)-freaking delicious so much flavor!!
Then it was on to dessert I mean seriously who bakes their own cakes too? They had a Friday and Saturday cake-we did the saturday blueberry cake with a frosting graham cracker crust. Best cake I’ve had at a restaurant outside Amano.
We ended up splitting the cost between the six of us with tip came out to $70 per person.
One of the best meals I’ve had in Idaho!!
Definitely worth the drive to Stanley..
**Can we give more than 5 stars OMG incredible dining experience

I’ve been here many a time and this place never disappoints. Summer menu is fresh and light, Winter’s hearty and soulful, nice selection of beer and wine. I do recommend booking a reservation, but bar seating is always available for walk ups. Outdoor seating in the summer is perfect after a day of adventuring. Meal portions are good, must try is there house made bread. Seasonal menu, time and care out into every meal. 10/10

A wonderfully unassuming & unexpected dining experience. This restaurant is the perfect example of how to deliver fine dining level cuisine at an approachable & non pretentious level — each dish was equal parts thoughtful, clever, and carried a homelike simplicity. I wish more chefs would follow this model of bringing high caliber dining experiences to cozy spots off the beaten path. Bravo

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had before. Incredible quality and flavor of foods. I enjoyed the shaved broccoli salad, special pasta, and some wine. The ice cream sandwich was amazing! Absolutely recommend a reservation if you have a group or getting there early if you want to just sit at the bar.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. A family we met while hiking in the Sawtooth Wilderness told us that we shouldn’t miss coming here. Spot on.
Fried chicken was out of this world. Amazing spicy broccoli salad, sourdough bread was the best we’ve ever had. A mint (REAL mint) ice cream sandwich was like no other.
Service was excellent and the owners are super humble and cool.
We went out of our way just to eat dinner there and are so glad we did.
Anyone that didn’t give 5 stars might need some therapy.
It’s not a big place so they might not be able to serve all walk ins. Reservations or being there right when they open would be best.
Can’t wait to return.

I’m pretty sure I’d make a special trip just to eat here even if the views in town were not as stunning as they are! I’m on a two-month road trip from coast to coast and back, and I rolled into town not knowing about the Stanley Supper Club. So glad the reviews here made it clear that I should rush over for dinner! The current menu has nods to the American South, Thailand, Hungary, Poland, and more. All too often, an eclectic mix like that indicates that the place is trying too hard and isn’t likely to serve up food that I want to eat. That’s not the case here at all. They know what they’re doing! When I saw pav on their Instagram as a previous special dessert, I went to their website and was not surprised to see that they’ve worked around the world. They season their food well, and the broccoli salad had the perfect balance of flavors and textures that I expect in Thailand. I bought a loaf of sourdough to take with me, and they even put (Jacobsen?) sea salt flakes on the to-go butter. The details matter! They seem to do a lot of fermenting as well for their hot sauce and other ingredients like the mustard greens on my pierogi. The front of house is very friendly, and the decor feels homey and welcoming. It feels much more like a “come as you are” place than a fine dining place in any world city, and the prices are more than fair. I’m truly not sure why you’d eat anywhere else if you’re anywhere near Stanley. My recommendation is to take friends so that you can try all the dishes!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing and a must visit when in Stanley. The service was friendly and efficient, especially during the winter. All of the food was fresh, delicious and presented perfectly. The sourdough was perfect. The four of us a shared the beef stroganoff, the stew, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. All of the food was delicious. I was hoping to get some dessert but we were full after all of the amazing food.
