Pretty good food dessert portions could match their price and food quality could be watched a bit better. Time to time employees can seem a bit impatient and stressed which customers can feel. Stars reflect the vibes me/my family feel.

We were traveling through and wanted some home cooking for breakfast. Early Bird Cafe did not disappoint. The service was great and the food even better. Large portion sizes; we brought back leftovers.

What a gem.

My wife and I just moved to Hartsville, and we’re so relieved to find that this place was as good as it is. We’ve been for breakfast several times but haven’t made it for lunch/ dinner yet. Everything we’ve had has been really good. Some notable mentions: the biscuits are perfect and the best I’ve ever had (Better than Loveless). The pancakes are incredible (so much vanilla flavor in them, and they often have nice crispy edges). The trash plate is amazing (I add salsa and jalapenos, but their hash browns are the star of the show), and the desserts are fantastic- shout out to the chocolate and coconut meringue pie- which is better meringue than anything I’ve had in Tennessee.
The service is friendly and fast. I love that you sit yourself and pay at the counter – as it makes it easy to dine quickly in the morning.

This is without question the best restaurant in Hartsville. We’re new regulars.

The service was good, although i did have to ask for a refill of my drink when my meal was almost done, the atmosphere was decent, although the floor needed a repaint.
I had the Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, and slaw. The steak wasn’t very warm and reminded me of Banquet Frozen Salsbury Steak from Walmart ( it was definitely purchased prepared), I wanted a baked potato ( was told they only have them at night, I was there at 1:30), so I got the mashed potatoes instead. Tasted like instant potatoes yet it wasn’t bad. And the slaw was definitely homemade, had large chunks of cabbage. Usually slaw is either sweet, or vinegar tasting. This was neither, but it was creamy.
That said, I did eat all the food. I did drive an hour each direction just to try the food because most of the reviews are good. I have a local restaurant that I can dine at if I want warmed up prepared food from Performance Food. Again, the service was good.

Small old style lil’ country restaurant. Great southern breaded and fried squash and okra. Fried potatoes and burgers are very good.
