Finally was able to come try this recently opened Tex-Mex restaurant in Gonzales after seeing so many wonderful photos of their food and drinks! Service was fast and friendly; the drinks – ice cold and delicious; the food – piping hot and fresh! I went with the lunch chicken fajitas today and a frozen mango margarita. The brunch menu looks great. Guess I’ll have to get back down there again soon and order from one of those items! Be sure to give Agave Blue a try next time you’re in town! You will be glad you did!

Agave Blue on the Gonzales location just opened today! Our server George provided excellent service. He checked on us throughout the dining experience and refill drinks when needed.
I got a small frozen mango margarita as my drink. It was good! I love to try new food options so I choose the Suizas. It’s a chicken enchilada meal with creamy salsa verde sauce, rice, and refried beans. The sauce has a little kick to it, but not unbearable. The shredded chicken is in a corn tortilla. The food is amazing! For dessert, I got the churros. It’s not too sweet either.
Everyone was nice! For the first day of opening, the employees did a fantastic job. I hope the food continues to be amazing as they serve more people. Welcome to Gonzales, Agave Blue!

Went in for happy hour 3pm-6pm and sat at the bar. We were serviced by a woman to begin with who was awesome. Ordered drinks and then after the first drink another female came out and began prepping like she was a bar back. We waited and the individual prepping continued to walk back and forth with no acknowledgment. After about 5-7 mins I asked if she was the bartender and she said yes, so I requested another margarita. She continued to prep and would walk past, look me in the face and not once spoke or even smiled. I got my drink and then my friend and I decided we wanted a dessert. We had to wait for the original female to come back to take our order. When my friend asked the one prepping how long she had been bartending she replied with “4 years”. So my friend asked why she didn’t speak to us or check on us and she said she was busy prepping. Once we decided to leave I asked the host if she knew the girls name behind the bar because I wanted to speak to a manager about her attitude. She said it was her sister. lol. I said so does she always act like that? The host replied very short and snarky with “she’s fine and she’s not on the clock”. Ok so why is she behind the bar prepping then? She just kept saying “she’s fine” and was very dismissive. I simply said “if you’re behind the bar it only makes sense to acknowledge the patrons at the bar” ESPECIALLY WHEN WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE AT THE BAR! Both of them had nasty attitudes and it was apparent after that engagement that they were in fact sisters.
Me and my son used to love to come here after it originally opened but I won’t be spending anymore money here. Ya’ll need to get rid of those two sooner than later. I don’t know their names but they are pale and blonde. Both of em got their noses too high in the air to be in the service industry.

First time eating at this restaurant this week. Service and atmosphere was great. We ordered chicken and steak fajita combo. The chicken fajitas were great. Having eaten at many different Mexican restaurants it’s a 50/50 chance the steak fajitas will be great or fatty like eating meat with rubber in it. I usually stay away from ordering steak fajitas because the quality of the meat varies greatly from different restaurants. The steak fajitas had great flavor, but the fist bite was meat and rubbery fat and of course into the napkin spitting it out it went. I then proceeded to cut the fajita I couldn’t bite into small pieces to try and finish it. The rest of the pieces were pretty much the same so we didn’t eat any more. I will go back but will be staying away from the steak fajitas here.

Food isn’t great. Everything tastes kind of similar and feels as if it was reheated in a microwave. Always be wary when you order something like duck empanadas and they show up in under 3 mins bathed in sauces. We should ring out the grease from our quesadillas and the refried beans tasted canned. Atmosphere is pretty nice and the staff were great.

Our experience was absolutely horrible. We were the only people in the restaurant and we went for 3-6 happy hour. When we asked about the happy hour they said they don’t have a happy hour during the weekend, and we told them the website said they did. Not once did they apologize or honor it. We then ordered drinks after 20 min of waiting for the server to come to our table, and didn’t receive them after another 25 min. We finished our drinks after about 20 minutes and still hadn’t gotten asked if we wanted appetizers. KEEP IN MIND, we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was horrible. The waitress was rude as well. Will definitely not be returning. We went to Mitio and they had the best food and atmosphere!

Such a great patio day, they have TVs, music, and very attentive staff. The atmosphere is excellent, with the lake and fountain. I’m not one to order a burger at a Mexican restaurant, but this was one of the most fresh, juicy burgers I have had. Watermelon margs are epic, and mocktails were perfect as well. If in Gonzales, this should be top of your list. Get the Churros for dessert, you will not regret it.
