I had not been to this place in about 15 years but decided to go this week and ordered a burger. I got the double burger and that is the heaviest burger I have ever picked up! It had to be an entire pound! It was so thick that I had to eat it sideways in little bites. There was no way to take a bite of the whole burger. The burgers are freshly pattied and very thick. I believe I paid seven dollars or so for the burger. They also have the old thick crinkle cut fries. You cannot dine , you have to take food to go, but this is the neatest little place, set up with antiques that you can purchase. I will not go anywhere else for burgers from now on!

Found this hole in the wall place while trying to decide where to eat in Albemarle. I went by the review of how nice the staff was; couldn’t have chose a better place! The burgers were made to order and their bacon was so crispy! The only thing is they only accept cash and you cannot eat inside but there are tables right around the corner you can eat outdoors. 10/10 highly recommend!

To me personally this is the only restaurant I like to eat at dont like breakfast knook to small and i didn’t tip the waitress I TIPPED COOK WHY U MIGHT ask?? Because he made the food to perfection like the GOODIE SHOP!! All the waitress did was bring me my food no work involved

Wow! Didn’t realize they served oatmeal until this morning, I was on my way to work and was going to stop by McDonalds for their oatmeal and saw cars out to the road….I said not today! So I called the Goody Shop and took a chance. Asked them if they serve oatmeal and she said, “yes, that they have brown sugar”. That’s all I needed to hear. I ordered it and OMG!!! I couldn’t believe how good it was and it’s sooooo biggggg!!! I have just a little bit left that I put in my fridge. It lasted me for hours …..until lunch. Hey I’m loving it! I’ll definitely be back for that! It’s bigger up close. Thanks Goody Shop for coming through.

Staple of the Albemarle community. The food and service has always been excellent. That being said, there’s absolutely no reason 5 years after the government scamdemic that any restaurant should be take out only. Who wants to pack up get in their car, decide where you’re going to eat, get there and be told take the food somewhere else too eat? Food’s way too expensive these days to have to sit in your car or drive to a park to eat food you just paid handsomely for. God help you on a rainy day, you and your food will be soaked while you look for somewhere to eat. Just shut the doors and be done.

Heard so much about this place. I jump on the motorcycle and ride 40 miles to come sit down and eat.. Apparently it’s take out only now, are we still stuck in COVID times 4yrs later? Was told I could take it with me. I’m on a motorcycle where am I going put it?? Where am I going put my drink with out spilling or dropping it?? Very disappointed.. Can’t comment on food, but the experience could’ve been alot better then buy here and have to take it somewhere else to eat it…
