With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

This was my first visit to a human bean coffee shop. Staff were super nice and really patient, and answered questions and concerns. This was a drive thru with no seating/restroom, but we parked chose to order at the counter and pick it up. The place was not too busy in the morning; I opted for snowy mocha and loved it. Definitely an edible chocolate covered coffee bean was something memorable on the drink. This location is next to a parking lot with ample parking spots. Definitely recommend it, prices were reasonable and service was reasonably fast.

NOT ACTUALLY OPEN AT 4:45AM. Otherwise would get a 5 star review. They are pretty good but when I’m starting work at 5 am and the only good coffee spot in the area says they are open at 445 it’s quite a let down to pull through and notice it’s closed and no one is there.

I have been getting my daily mocha, with alt. milk, from human bean for years. When they had their alt. milk surcharge I would pay $6.50 for a 20oz. Since they got rid of that surcharge I’ve paid paying $5.50 (at multiple different locations). Today, my drink cost $6.35. I was confused & asked why the up-charge. They told me they charge extra for the chocolate syrup. I asked when this change occurred and they stated it has always been extra, which has not been my experience. Even when I’ve ordered from doordash, I have never been charge extra for the syrup. Looking for clarification, is this a location specific thing, or a change they are now implementing? What are other people’s experiences ordering a mocha with alt. milk? I’ve tried looking at their website, different location’s menus, even doordash’s prices, but haven’t found an answer.

Always delicious coffee. Got the Caramel Granita because im a freaking sucker for caramel. It was blended very well, not chunky at all, and had a good caramel swirl. Props to the baristia for so giving us 2 chocolate espresso beans each. Great little treat. Would recommend.

I love this place! There’s one right across the street from my neighborhood, the people working are very kind:) I enjoy getting the matcha drink, and I love the little bean they give you! If you’ve never been there before, I definitely recommend giving it a try.
