What else to say other than holy smokes, that’s one damn good bbq. I had brisket and I have to say it was one of the most juiciest and tender pieces of meat I had in a long time and the sides where phenomenal. For comparison, I stopped by their competition right on the highway (J.R’s Roadhouse) just to compare it and Holy Smoaks takes the win, and when I say take the win, they blow them right out of the water. Holy Smoaks is literally light years ahead of them. It was so good I took some extra to go. Keep up the good work.

Visted this establishment for a last minute dinner and it smelled amazing outside. We didn’t get a greeting of any sort nor a smile. We looked up at the screen you see once through the front door and immediately heard, “That’s not the menu! It’s for catering.”*long pause* “The menu is up here.” We took that to mean towards the back of the restaurant where she was standing and made our way towards her. She made a gesture towards the menus on the counter and then just stood there looking at me. We immediately felt unwelcome and when asking questions about getting the meat on the side of the mac n cheese, she made us feel even more unwelcome and gave short clipped answers. Honestly, she looked annoyed that we were even there. Not once did we get a smile or any indication that our business was wanted. We quickly ordered and left and my older daughter quickly commented on the lack of friendliness and I agreed. I am very disappointed with the service we “received” as I have tried their brisket sandwich from the food truck and the gentleman there was friendly and informative. My 10 year old was unimpressed with the mac n cheese and said she’ll stick to the Kraft in a box. I tried the pulled pork mac n cheese and found the PULLED PORK IS DELICIOUS, TENDER AND FLAVORFUL The mac n cheese, not so much. Probably won’t try again but would recommend the food truck for a quick bite!

This was my second time eating here; lemme tell ya- HOLY SMOKES!!! is right! I’ve had BBQ all over the US- my husband even more places than I and we LOVE this place- reminded us of a place down south. The Pit Boss is friendly and passionate about his craft. He recommended beef cheeks today to go with the brisket…he was right to suggest this. Melt in your mouth smoky, meaty goodness. It did not need sauce- but if you had a hankerin’ for such- there is a plethora of options- the Carolina Mustard being MY favorite! All in all- we have had the smoked mac and cheese with brisket, brisket, pulled pork, beef cheeks, smoked sausage, loaded mashed taters, the maple bacon brussels sprouts, tallow fries and I say- go, go back, and then go back again.

Walking down the street and stumbled upon this great little place! So glad we came in and gave it a try. Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service & staff! Had the Frito Pie Bowl & the Loaded Mac and Cheese! Definitely will need to come again on our next visit, the rest of the family will love it!

My wife and I are from Texas, and we are very critical of bbq. The original sauce is slightly sour with a light sweetness. Cuts the fat well. The smoakafried chicken wings are amazing. The beef cheek is done well. The house sausage has a good mix of spice and heat. The brisket is good, tender, and juicy. 8.5 out of 10. We will be coming here again. P.S. if you are celiac, you will be pleased with the options available to you. They take all food allergies very seriously and since things are all made from scratch they can tell you if you can safely eat it or not.

The prices here are no different than what we paid in Texas at BBQ places all throughout Houston, San Antonio, Dallas/FW. The smoke is more mellow than most are used to as it is a pure oak cold smoke.

Great service and delicious BBQ! We tried the chicken, pulled pork, abd ribs. All were absolutely perfect. I loved the potato salad. The loaded mashed needed a bit more flavor, but they were fine. We were satisfied with the prices as well. Id definitely come back next time in Rapid City

In town for a conference and stumbled upon this little gem.
I had the Texas Trio sandwich and my wife did the Dirty Bird sandwich. She raved about the texture and tenderness of the chicken. The brisket on my sandwich was very tender and the crust on it was fantastic. Both sandwiches had plenty of meat and the buns were delicious!
If you’re looking for BBQ in Rapid City, this place is worth considering.

I was absolutely blown away after finding this place. The staff is great, they were so friendly and accommodating. It definitely has a “family owned” vibe in here. The food was great! If you like Texas style BBQ you’ll love this place. The meat is cooked perfectly, has a very rich smokey flavor, and the seasoning is on point. The only thing I would say is a little disappointing was that the meats on a plates were kind of cool/slightly warm. Even with that being said I would highly recommend this place. Their BBQ sauce are amazing! The Texas coffee sauce was definitely my favorite. I will be coming back in the future.

Tried Holy Sm(oaks) for the first time last night and it did not disappoint. Pulled pork, turkey and brisket were the meats we tried. All 3 were delicious! I was skeptical of the turkey since it is so easy to dry out…..nope! This turkey was moist, tender and so flavorful. It was our favorite followed closely by the brisket. That isn’t saying the pulled pork is a slouch because it’s not….its just that the other 2 are just that good. Looking forward to trying the other meats our next visits. It was a lot of food for the money. Thank you for giving us a new place to frequent downtown.
