The most unique, fresh, flavorful pizza I’ve ever tasted! The crunchy but still chewy crust is simply amazing, and the flavors from the freshest ingredients delight the taste buds! Highly recommended for people looking to try something that’s not the same old thing.

Weird but tasty. Pizza slices are 4×4 squares. Sauce is light but flavorful. Small options for toppings which is fine. Crust is crispy. After cooking they put heaping portions of grated mozzarella. It’s weird but we all thought it was a good pizza.

A category of its own. Go here if you’re looking to try something new. At $3/slice it is worth the risk to try something new. The hot crispy crust and fresh toppings are the perfect combination.
Some people don’t understand it, to each their own. It’s existed since 1945 and can’t be compared to a NY style slice if that’s what you’re craving.
The gentleman working was fantastic at balancing customers and all the steps of making pizza with fresh dough. To management, I felt like he could have used a helper to give a more professional vibe. Vibe can be hard to justify economically, but having someone handling orders and running food to those enjoying the patio would be nice.
Atmosphere: Loved the DiCarlos nostalgia and decor. Store was out of Italian soda and Merchandise. I can assure you I would have done some Christmas shopping for family. Let me know when you stock back up.

Amazingly clean place. Wonderful customer service. The most flavor neutral pizza ever. The saving grace was the crust. Now they just need to work on adding flavor to the sauce, meats and switch to mozzarella cheese. Only go if someone else is paying.. In fairness I am a pizza snob, so I’m hard to impress. Honestly, I’ve had better frozen pizzas.

I travel all over the World, and I’m from N.Y.C.’s “Little Italy”. So I’m aware how hard it is to find good pizza in the South. BUT, Di Carlo’s is absolutely the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my 68-years. Two guys were working the front, one at the register, and the other was making the pizza. It was my first time trying this place, so I asked if they had Neopolitan style or Sicilian. He never heard of either. So I just ordered one slice of their square pizza (which is neither). While I was waiting for my slice, I watched a Pakistani guy spend 10-minutes spreading out one tablespoon of tomato sauce. It was the most thin, least amount of sauce I’ve ever seen spread out on an entire sheet of pizza. It was the absolute worst looking pizza I’ve ever seen in my life. When my single slice came out of the oven, he spread ice cold mozzarella cheese on top and handed it to me. Which I’ve never seen anyone ever do that before. So I asked him to please put the slice back in the oven to heat the cheese. He said that all their pizza is served that way. Maybe in Karachi, Pakistan , but nowhere else in the World !!! He obliged me, and it didn’t have any taste at all.
That will go down as the worst slice of Pizza I’ve ever had in my life.

This Pizza is different, but amazing how the crust is perfectly baked with a great crunch, with the cold cheese on top, brings all the flavors together, worth the drive. Place is clean with inside sitting and outside sitting. Great food, great service. Could use some lively music, and some history on the pizza, that’s completely different, but amazing. ❤️❤️❤️

Small local sicilian style pizzeria. Thus was our first time here. Menu Selection is small. It is cafeteria style where you order and pay and thsn they bring it to your table when its ready. We ordered 6 slice and a pepperoni roll. We enjoyed both. The crust on the pizza is nice and crisp and flavorful. The pepperoni roll was very good., crisp and good amount of cheese and pepperoni, very flavorful. The sauce on side is a nice addition to dip the roll in though it doesn’t need it. We highly recommend the pepperoni roll as a first timer. The owner is very nice and hospitable.

I’m not sure what the hype is about. Who likes cold cheese and cold uncooked pepperoni’s? I definitely won’t be returning.

Different and delicious.
I’ve long been aware of this restaurant’s other locations well north of Knoxville and their unusual coal-miner style tray pizza, but have never been in the area of eastern Ohio/WV panhandle to try it.
It might be one of the last remaining pizza styles I haven’t tried, it’s certainly one of the least common.
I recommend setting your expectations aside and just enjoying this pizza for what it is: different but delicious.
I tried a couple slices the first time, and had to go back the next day to get six more.
Best eaten right when they give it to you, to best enjoy the contrast between the hot crispy crust with delicious sauce and the cool shredded smoked provolone and pepperoni.
The one area of improvement needed is beverage selection. What they have now is very limited and odd choices. I would have loved to have had a coke zero to go with my meal.
(please note: the hours in my photo are not the hours they are currently open as the business gets staffed up. I recommend calling first to check current hours of operations.)

This pizza surprised me and I’m glad I didn’t look at the reviews before we went this time. Definitely a different style of pizza. The cheese did melt onto it but some of it was unmelted and cool, however it was grated very fine so it made it really good. Not like you would expect if somebody just told you it was raw toppings.
