It’s definitely my top place for papaya salad (exam style) and tom yum soup. It’s hard to find a place that makes papaya salad using fermented fish and crab, and do it well. It adds a layer of savory umami that can’t be achieved otherwise.
The tom yum seasonings were on point and they actually have added veggies into the soup. I prefer to have more balanced veggies in this soup. The broth was a nice rich color, not watery and transparent.
The Thaiangle tofu was a simple side, but because they use good fresh tofu, the flavor was so refreshing and the texture so buttery.
I also couldn’t stop eating my friend’s pad woon sen noodles. There was really good charred wok flavor.
We had a vegetarian in the group, and there was a good amount of good vegetarian options too.
My group got a pretty good sampling of the menu, and it was consistently good. There was too many to list all individually, so I just mentioned my personal favorites. I’m definitely coming back.
This place is very clean and cute, including the bathrooms (a great sign!).
I got the Basil Chicken, and it had so much flavor—wow! My wife cannot have gluten, and they were able to make a delicious, gluten-free Pad See Ew for her (she usually only gets Pad Thai).
My dish was an 8/10, and my wife rated hers 9/10!
I am a big foodie (and grew up with the flavorful dishes of Korean cuisine), so I have high standards. You will not be disappointed here!
I called and asked to speak with whoever was in charge, I got Tyler (MOD) and at first he was sort of helpful, I told him what was wrong (in the mist of it he told me that it was busy) he told that he couldn’t give me a refund because I order through door dash, but that he can give me a $40 store credit. which was fine with me because I didn’t want my money back, I just wanted my food made right! He took my name and number and told me that when I want to use it i’ll have to come into the store to use it.
not even 5 mins and Tyler was calling me back to let me know that he went and reviewed the cameras (Remember its busy!) and he seen that his staff DIDN’T put carrots in neither dish or that they didn’t mess up AT ALL! and that he would NOT be honoring the $40 store credit. I was really confused and taken aback, and when I asked to speak with the owner Chris , I was told I’ll have to call back because they’re too busy! SMH , well again I’m confused because if you all are busy how did you have time to look back at the cameras ??? I informed him that I have no reason to lie and I his behavior is unprofessional and distasteful and very accusatory for them to be so busy.
He told me that I can bring the food back and when I informed him that I used door dash, he said ” you can take that up with door dash then because I’m not giving you the credit, they didn’t put carrots in there!”
You can clearly see that there’s carrots in them and NO chicken! when I just called back to talk to Chris , I was told that he wasn’t there. Tyler (MOD) handled this all wrong! the cook Shanita got on the phone and exactly handled it a LOT better, she should be the MOD, she offered me apologies. Tyler IMO shouldn’t be left in charge anymore! he handle this really poorly ! its unfortunate because when the food is made right, its REALLY good! I could say the best I’ve had since being here in Louisville, and I know me being just one person won’t make a difference in not coming here anymore but I’ll be sharing my story of my last experience here! I can’t share the video here because it’s not long enough but I’ll share it on my other blogs: Rainbowtae69
I ordered the anppetizer-chicken egg roles and the coconut based soup. I was not sure I wanted much spice so the wait staff graciously offered to place it on the side so I could add my on level of heat. (First time that’s happened at any restaurant). And speaking is wait staff, from the greeting and seating to the order and serving of the food, they were friendly, sharply neat in appearance and very friendly.
The egg rolls were not greasy. They were crunchy on the outside and warm and tastey inside. The chile sauce was just the right compliment for them. The soup was amazing. Big chunks of chicken and veggies and the temperature was HOT not lukewarm. Filled with substance and not all soup, I’d get this again. Very pleased. My first time here but I’ll come back.
Definitely will be ordering again next time I’m in town!
Thai basil chicken and larb.
The thai basil chicken had little basil, I had a thai basil plant at home that I used to gather a half cup and recook the chicken.
The larb had no toasted rice and huge cuts of onion mixed in. No lemon or lime juice.
I ordered medium and hot, because people said that the spice level is truly thai level. Nothing was hot.
And thai food is usually fragrant with fish sauce which was completely absent. I’m sorry for the negative review. I can’t even do 3 stars.
