Different Cheesesteak #1266. 2 dogs, beer, and cheesesteaks continue! I went to Ray’s and got a cheesesteak with fried onions. I took my cheesesteak and 2 grand dogs next door to Swedesboro Brewing Company. Swedesboro Brewing is kid and dog-friendly until 7 pm. Outside food is always welcome—more on them in a different post. The cheesesteak was a standard-ish pizza shop cheesesteak. The roll wasn’t going to hurt you. It had a decent amount of chopped meat. The onion pieces were big and raw-ish. They added a decent amount of flavor. I would have liked a slice or two more of cheese. Good stop, two nice little places.

Prices on the menu I was handed was not what I was charged. Guy had no clue when I brought it up. Calzone had zero flavor, no garlic or anything added to the ricotta. Panzerotti was still smi raw inside. Cheese was melted but dough was very much under cooked. Very disappointing.

Plain is pretty good, once you start adding toppings, it’s very hit or miss. Grilled chicken on salad is always overcooked into oblivion. Definitely worth skipping if you have another pizza shop you enjoy.

We ordered cheesesteaks with fries and onion rings. Everything was really good tonight. The only reason I took a star away is because the last few times we ordered pizza it just wasn’t good. There is an over abundance of cheese and toppings and it is always all over the place. I love cheese and toppings but it’s nearly impossible to eat.
I wish I could say it was only one time but it’s been quite a few times. The people in the restaurant are great. The order came up quickly and as I said it was really good tonight.

They treat every customer like they’ve known them forever so you leave with a smile on your face after picking up your awesome pizza. I haven’t even moved on from their pizza to try anything else they make yet because it’s so good. It’s hard to find crust that is just the right mix of a rich yet light flavor + just the right amount of crisp and thickness. Sauce must be homemade because it has a distinct flavor that really compliments the crust and marries the cheese. I have worked in a dental office next door for years and I order a couple pizzas to bring home 40 min away (since my 3.5 year old who doesn’t eat anything at all fell in love with it) everytime I work in that office now.

this is definitely the best pizza shop in swedesboro! i’ve been coming here forever and they have the highest quality pizza in the town. the wings & mega fries are also great. i also love that they play music and they’re always having fun 🙂 only issue i have is wait time, which sometimes ends up being 10-15 minutes longer than said, but they handle it well. they also don’t deliver, so we always just pick up instead. but love ray’s! 🙂
