We found Belén de la Cruz by chance while sightseeing, and we are so glad we did. Their empanadas turned out to be the most memorable food we had in Savannah! We also enjoyed the espresso drinks. In addition to savory empanadas, this family owned bakery café offers pastries and sandwiches. So it’s a great place for either a quick coffee break or a full meal. The sign says: “Baked With Love”, and you can tell the owner loves to share the taste of authentic homestyle Argentinian food. We are going to miss this place, so on the way out of town we had to stop one last time. That was easy because there’s an adjacent parking lot.

Belén de la Cruz is small and undeniably cute, but the overall vibe just didn’t land for me. The empanadas were tasty, though much smaller than expected, so the value felt a bit off. We ordered three and waited well over 20 minutes, only to learn that one of the empanadas I ordered had been given to someone else by mistake, so I ended up having to choose a different item.

I was also hoping for a cappuccino, but their coffee is made with an automatic machine rather than a traditional espresso setup, which I don’t really care for. On the bright side, the staff were very pleasant, and paid street parking was easy to find. Overall, an okay experience, but not one I’d go out of my way to revisit.

What a gem! We were just walking by this quaint place in Savannah and saw the signage and decided to stop in and check it out. The staff was amazing, atmosphere was lovely and the empanadas and pastries were top notch! We had a delightful conversation with the owner from Argentina and left feeling like we met a new friend!
We ate our food when it came and forgot to take pictures so I took some from the display case before we left. The apple cake and almond croissant was absolutely the best we have ever had. We tried 3 different empanadas and one was better than the other.
GREAT FIND! Stop by if you get the opportunity!!!

So rare to find baked empanadas when we travel and especially in the South where everything seems to be fried! We all enjoyed the variety and had 2-3 each plus a coffee drink as a breakfast meal! Very tasty and very cute decor!

Don’t snooze on this place. Authentic empanadas, stunning pastries. Have been in business a year, clean and tidy, local business worthy of your support. The almond croissant is way big enough to share! You’ll want more than one empanada!

Good, but small empanadas. Wonderful dessert pastries. Coffee was also excellent although didn’t have that Latino punch. Belén de la Cruz means Bethlehem of the Cross.

Belén de la Cruz, which is located on East Liberty Street in Savannah, GA, is such a delightful stop for delicious food + a fun atmosphere! The space is bright, welcoming, and full of charm, making it a fun place to pop-in for a treat.

The pastries looked fresh & absolutely delicious. However, d my first visit here, which occurred with my boyfriend & some of our friends while we were visiting Savannah for a wedding of two of our mutual friends, we focused on trying the empanadas. 🙂 Belen de la Cruz’s Caprese Empanada, Onion Empanada, and Corn empanada were particularly wonderful — flavorful, perfectly baked, and so satisfying!! Everything looked beautiful and well-presented within the store, which made it hard to choose what to try on ordering at the counter!

The staff at this establishment are SO friendly and helpful, and our whole experience here was incredible. If you are in Savannah and are craving something savory (or sweet), Belén de la Cruz is definitely worth a visit!!

Autentico y muy rico!! The pastries were warm and fresh, empanadas were crispy and flavorful, the Americano was amazing!
They also have a great combo with empanadas + coffee + pastries so you can try it little of everything.

Very unique and flavorful empanadas, coffee and sweets. Everything is housemade with consideration and pride. The empanadas are covered in a thin shell allowing the flavors from within to thoroughly come through.
