I’ll start off by saying, I love supporting small businesses …. But this one HAS to do better! First of all the smell of old mold hits you as soon as you walk in the door! We still chose to dine in because we were waiting on school to let out (big mistake) We waited over 45 minutes for 2 cheeseburgers – while waiting we noticed mold all over the ceilings around the AC vents. Cob webs in all of the corners and just a filthy out dated environment. The server was very nice but that didn’t matter after my head was pounding from breathing mold for an hour. Our clothes still smell of mold and mildew! I see now why they have a B rating on the door. This place needs a deep cleaning ASAP and probably a lot of other things too! The food is decent, if you ever actually get it. It would be a great place if they actually put some effort into the experience. I won’t be back.

This is such an awesome place. It’s got the old timey mom and pop shop feel. Everyone is so laid back and kind. The food is phenomenal and so fresh! I live like 5 minutes away, have for years, and have never been before. I was looking for a place nearby to take my daughter after a day at the park so we wouldn’t have to drive into Lexington and this place came up on the map with great reviews. I can see why! They even have a little table with activities for the kids to play with while waiting for food. A big hit for my two year old. We will now be going back often!

The pepper steak sub was recommended to me and it was amazing! The bread was soft and fresh! The meat was seasoned to perfection and the fries were perfect. I’ll definitely be going back.

Super good food! I learned the owner (I’ll bet you a dollar his name is Joey!), opened this restaurant when he was 19 years old! Awesome food. Great service! Clean! And Joey’s mom is the best in the whole world. Friendly lady! Joey, you need to give her a raise. Or, maybe be the best son known to mankind! She is bringing in business like there is no tomorrow! I want her to be my mom, except she’s about as young as I am. I asked her what sub sandwich was best. She made some very logical and helpful suggestions. So good. Try any of them. Everything I saw coming out and being eaten looked REALLY GOOD. So, I had the Club Sub Sandwich. It was warm and good! Do it! Get one! Wait… get three of them! Take one home to your mom. Give one to Joey’s mom. She is a peach! Thank you for great food and great experience!

Was working in Gilbert so I decided to go eat lunch with my kids and we all know there’s not much to choose from in Gilbert. I decided to stop here and I most definitely will return. The burgers was made fresh and seasoned well. The portions was great, Both me and the kids couldn’t finish all our food.

Joey’s is top notch. I was pleasantly surprised as I hadn’t planned on stopping and didn’t even know this was in Gilbert. I will now make a special trip from Prosperity to enjoy their food. I had the best burger and home fries. I recommend Joey’s Sub & Sandwich Shop. ****

Wonderful spot if you want a comfort meal out of home. The service was incredible, I didn’t catch his name but he was extremely attentive to every guest in the restaurant. He triple checked on everyone and would reassure anyone waiting on take-out orders about how long it was taking. I got the flounder sandwich and it hit the spot. Overall a comforting feel and would definitely recommend for a quick pick me up.
