This was our second time at Pete’s Taverna. What a surprising experience both times. We ate outside with great weather. Service is relaxed but attentive. We tried to order different items each time but had to order the wings both times. Other reviews mentioned it being expensive but I think it is in line with other upscale places we eat at. Their dishes are seasoned well and very flavorful. Their side dishes are large enough to be shared. The lamb stew was huge and satisfying! You wont be disappointed

We had a wonderful experience at Pete’s Taverna Restaurant and Bar in Riverhead! From the start, we were warmly welcomed by Andreas, who not only greeted us kindly but also shared some great local tips about the neighborhood. The highlight of our evening, however, was the outstanding service from Autumn. With her beautiful smile, she was attentive, quick, super friendly, and truly professional all night long.
The food was delicious with generous portions, but it was Autumn’s exceptional service that really made the evening memorable. When you visit this lovely restaurant, I highly recommend asking for her, you’ll be in for a five-star experience!

Went for dinner tonight and everything was fabulous! The atmosphere, the service, and the food! Restaurant was impeccably clean. Good was amazing! Service was top notch. I would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

This was our first time having Greek food on LI. We usually enjoy authentic Greek food in Astoria, Queens but this was just as wonderful. The food was amazing. The staff was friendly, attentive and downright wonderful. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!!!!!

The people here are great, but the food is very overpriced and mediocre. The beets are served for 22 dollars with a scoop of plain yogurt and too much olive oil. The salad and kebab did not taste authentic. I’d be fine with that if the prices were lower. 35 dollars for one kebab with a salad that is not tasty—it’s too much. But again, the people were nice and the best part was the fig martini.

I visited this Greek restaurant in Riverhead and everything was absolutely delicious. Pete’s wings were perfect crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. All of the appetizers and main dishes we ordered were amazing as well. You can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The atmosphere was warm, and the service made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, flavorful Greek food!

How did I miss this place for a year? Stumbled across it today with a bit of hesitation because if there’s one thing that does not exist on the North Fork is good Greek food. Saw the flags, looked it up – figured let’s give it a try.
The three of us shared a lamb stifado, a lamb souvlaki (see the pattern?) and the wings with latholemono, the Greek cooking trinity of lemon, olive oil and oregano. The stifado was outstanding, a large portion of lamb shank accompanied by perfectly cooked and seasoned orzo with a tomato based sauce. The lamb souvlaki was tender and well seasoned, not gamy in the least. And the wings? I’ve had wings every which way, but hadn’t ever had them seasoned Greek style. After today, I don’t know why nobody ever thought of it before.
The food was excellent. Portion sizes were exactly right, not a ton of food but enough so that nobody was leaving hungry (and someone was taking food home with them). The prices were good, about what you’d expect for the quality and portion of food that we received. The service was very attentive and friendly. So far, so good.
Their patio is wonderfully landscaped and makes for a great spot to stop and grab a bite and a drink. Unfortunately, we were driving so the drinking part will have to happen some other time, but we’ll definitely be back.
Glad to see a good Greek restaurant this far east again! I wish them luck because we’ll be back.

We were at the restaurant tonight .Andrew came to our table and handed us the drink and food menus and said he would be back to take our drink orders and tell us about the dinner specials.
He was back in 5 minutes and did so. We had our drinks in 5 minutes.He explained the specials and we ordered an appetizer.
We ordered mussels as an appetizer which was very delicious
We ordered dinner and waited for about 10 minutes and our dinner came out hot and delicious. Andrew kept checking on us to see if we needed anything .The bill was very reasonable.
