I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Quai 21 in Colmar, Alsace, France.
A pleasant restaurant nicely located along the river, close to the Ferris wheel and the Christmas market area.
The restaurant is situated on the pier, near the Grande Roue, in an area that is usually very lively during the Christmas market season. Inside, the décor is modern and well kept, with two separate dining rooms, which helps create a comfortable setting for dinner.
The cuisine is carefully prepared, though not particularly outstanding. We especially enjoyed the main courses, both fish-based: wild barbel and Arctic char. Both dishes were flavorful, well cooked, and enjoyable, even if they did not leave a lasting impression.
Service was very friendly and efficient.
Overall, a solid option in a very attractive location — suitable for a pleasant meal while enjoying the surroundings, without expecting a truly memorable culinary experience.

The restaurant has a modern vibe and design, the food is ok, platting is nice, the service is fine (one of our waiters was nice a professional, the other was a bit grumpy and less professional), the sitting is more or less ok. Not really impressed by this place, especially as I went with great expectations.

We went to this place based on the Michelin guide recommendation. The place was excellent. The food was creative, flavourful, and there was never ending bread which is quite rare nowadays.
We had the set menu. Without wine. It was very much worth the price. The bass was outstanding as was the dessert.
The only problem is that they were incredibly busy and therefore there was a long wait between dishes. Very long waits. And that brought down the rating. But if you have time to kill and talk. Then definitely worth coming here!

Had the 4 course dinner menu without the wine pairing and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each course — from the foie gras to the sea bream, veal, and finishing with pistachio pastry — was beautifully balanced in taste, aroma, and texture. The flavors complemented each other well and showed a lot of thought in the preparation. Service was attentive and professional; staff spoke English and explained each dish clearly, which added to the overall experience.

We had reserved a table online and were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The restaurant is stylishly modern and impeccably clean. We really appreciated the upscale yet relaxed atmosphere – refined without being overly formal. We each enjoyed a three-course à la carte dinner, and every single dish was a delight. It’s a wonderful fusion of traditional cuisine with a modern twist. From presentation to flavour to service – everything was simply spot on. A top-notch dining experience that we’ll happily repeat.

What a special restaurant this is. It is located in Old Town surrounded by beautiful and colourful historical buildings. What a great setting.
From the minute we stepped in we were greeted warmly by the server. We chose the terrace seats and was brought to a romantic terrace. You wouldn’t know from the facade of the building that a terrace even exists.
We chose the 4 course meal with drinks accompaniment. Every course was presented beautifully as seen on the photos. The servers were detailed in explaining each courses and drinks accompaniment. They were warm, very professional and seems very passionate in their job.
All in all this is such a delightful experience and what fantastic value. It is also recommended in the Michelin guide so you know it is definitely excellent!
If you are in Colmar please try this restaurant. It is worth it and more.

Amazing food served by a smiling person. Top location and high notch cuisine. Will be definately going back. They made the extra mile when we called to book a table and it was fully booked. 30 min later they called us back to tell us that they had a cancellation and they could have us as guests. They really made our evening.
