As a Texan I wasn’t expecting to find such great food out in the middle of California! The food came out super fast and everything was so delicious. The man behind the counter was also really friendly! I especially enjoyed their birria tacos and chicken enchiladas. Only thing I could say is the carne asada meat combo was not very tender. The prices are very reasonable for great portions. Overall great food!

I ordered the Fajitas and paid extra for all three (steak, chicken and shrimp) and it was well worth it for $20 -includes 3 corn tortillas, chips, salsa, and bottled Coke. Generous portions and good ratio of meat to onions and peppers. The service was fast and food was made to order, it came out fresh n hot in less than 10 minutes.

This was the absolute best California burrito I’ve had in humboldt county. The tortillas was even grilled. Everywhere was so fresh and this thing was huge. All the toppings in there tasted so good you can even taste the fresh cilantro. The spicy salsa verde was also amzing!!! And the chips are the thick crunch kind which are bomb.
I also went back since then and got the breakfast burrito with ham and extra cheese, which tasted phenomenal!!! It’s so hard to find good Mexican food in humboldt county and this place is the absolute best every time and never disappoints!!! The salsa is amzing the chips are nice and thick everything here is just so good

Food is nasty I don’t like it I wasted my money tacos barely cooked raw. I don’t like my food like that. I like my tortillas cooked a little bit. At least it’s just nasty.

We’re from out of town, And were heading to a campground to stay overnight. We wanted to eat something fresh and good. And yes this was it.
Fresh Made and Delicious. We ordered a Torta, Tacos, Birria Queso Tacos and Enchiladas. Everything was Incredible. You can see and taste the freshness.
The staff was super friendly, And this location was spot on clean. They also offer Wifi for guest. Highly Recommended.

Out of all the Mexican spots in Fortuna (I think there’s 6) this was the last one I tried and it’s become my favorite. Just tried the taco Tuesday and ordered 2 each of all four flavors we did enjoy them all but I preferred the asada and carnitas. The Al Pastor was a little too sweet for me. The staff is friendly and orders are always ready when I arrive.

Cozy and quaint little restaurant. We have ate here twice as a family of four and we have all loved our food both times. You order at the counter and they bring it to your seat with quick service and a great attitude. So far one of our favorite food joints here in Fortuna.

After asking a couple friends for their recommendation for Mexican food I ended up here at El Paisano. They have a Birria Pizza special for $13! I was planning on Queso Birria tacos but yes please, give me the pizza. They had a personal version for $6! Who has anything for $6 anymore? It is delicious and an amazing deal. The large was easily enough for 2, maybe 3 adults.
